Mail Online has shared some photos from the set of The Batman which appear to reveal the entrance to the Batcave. It's an impressive, artificial set with, "a large hole [which] had been built into the side of the set piece so that the crew could film Robert [Pattinson] inside the lair from multiple angles."
It's hard to say whether the plan was for the Batcave to be shot on location somewhere before COVID made that impossible, but it's not remotely hard to imagine how good this will look on screen.
These aren't the only sets under construction, though, as part of Gotham City is also being build. Some of the buildings appear to be burnt out (could that confirm those Firefly rumours?), while an entrance to Gotham Harbour Iceberg Fishing co. was also spotted. Honestly, it's hard to believe that's going to be anything other than the base of operations for this early version of The Penguin!
An ice skating rink has also been spotted, but we're not anticipating that factoring into the plot much. Everything screams classic Gotham City, though, so The Batman is clearly in good hands with Matt Reeves. Unfortunately, thanks to the pandemic, we won't get to see this one until 2022.
