According to a report in the latest issue of
Official Playstation Magazine UK, there will be at least one driveable vehicle in the game and when Sefton Hill was asked for more details about what role they'll play in the game, he said that it was:
"...something we’ll cover at a later date."
Mobility is a bigger factor in the new, larger environments, so aside from the vehicle rumour it was also revealed that Batman will have two grapples for rooftop swinging and some new gliding moves. Most intersting though was the revelation that Catwoman will have the same ability via her whip! Here is an excerpt from the magazine regarding exactly that and the fact she may be playable in a co-op mode:
There’s a not-so-subtle hint that Catwoman is a playable, co-op character. She uses her whip in the mission in the same way Batman uses his zip line. Director Sefton Hill wouldn’t be drawn when asked directly if she was controllable.
"I’m not allowed to comment on that," he said.
Interesting stuff, eh? It was also revealed that there are a lot more in the way of side missions this time around and Hill confirmed that they won't
"force you to do those. It’s your choice."
As well as that, the magazine also reported that the fights this time around would be much bigger (a demo they tried had them facing off against 40 of Two-Face's goons) while a few additions have been added to the combo system, like throwing back projectiles, launching aerial attacks from walls/windows, and unleashing
"beatdown" flurry attacks!
