BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Jena Malone Doesn't Deny That 'Robin' Rumor
Course, she doesn't confirm it either; but these days actors are only too happy to quash casting rumors when they get the chance...so can we take her silence to mean that there might be something to all of this female Robin talk? Click on and see what you think.
Okay so this is pretty much some non-news, but what else would you be doing on a Friday night if not speculating on an outlandish casting rumor? Nobody really believed that Jena Malone was actually cast in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice when she was spotted on set, and when a new hair color gave way to the female Robin talk most of us thought the suggestion was outright laughable. Then, lo and behold THR reported that she would indeed play a role in the film, and then a Detroit news station claimed to have the Robin stuff confirmed by an extra on the set. Nothing has been made official yet of course, but UK E Online's Marc Malkin caught up with the Sucker Punch actress last night at a book launch party and asked her about it outright.
"So, are you the new Robin?" I asked.
Malone didn't even blink. She gave me a little wave and slid off to the bar.
Like I said, non-news! But actors frequently use opportunities like this to put rumors to bed, so sometimes silence says a lot. Do you take her refusal to respond as proof that there's something to this female Robin talk? Or was she just really thirsty? Sound off in the usual place.
