Do We "Need" The Batman v Superman Trailer?

We all want the trailer, but is it something we need desperately right now? Click to find out my thoughts.

Let's face it: one way or another, we're all going to watch Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  Whether or not you're a fan of the casting, or you're a DC Fanatic, or a Marvelite, we're all seeing this movie.  For most of us, that is fact.  There are, however, a select few that choose to say that this movie isn't worth their time (no, I am not paraphrasing, there is actually people who put that in the comments).  And there are also people who say the fact that the trailer hasn't been released yet is a bad sign.  But here's the thing: do we really need the trailer for this movie right now??

We all want the trailer.  That much is evident.  Why else would we all get excited when rumors such as "The Super Bowl Trailer" or "Jupiter Asscending Trailer".  And the lack of trailer both times left us all a bit disapointed.  But, we shouldn't be really.  The movie is due at the end of March 2016.  That is about 13 monthes away.  We are good. We aren't in "desperate need".

We have five pictures right now:  one of Batman, one of Superman, one of Wonder Woman, one of the Batmobile, and one of Zach Snyder on set.  There have also been a handful of on set pictures taken.  Most of the time pictures are released after the first trailer.  But back to the trailer:  here is a rundown of how long before the movie each trailer has been released (sticking to DC because this is a DC movie):

The Dark Knight- Audio Clip of Joker Released October/November about 10/11 Monthes Before Release of Movie

Green Lantern-  Footage Released November, about 8 Monthes Before Movie

The Dark Knight Rises- Teaser Released July, about 12 Monthes Before Movie

Man of Steel-Teaser Released July, about 11 Monthes Before Movie

So as you guys see, WB teaser release dates for their last four movies have been about 10 monthes before the film.  Why are we expecting a teaser over a year before??  Do remember, we do have the comic con footage, which reports stated was CG, not real edited film.

So, do we need a teaser right now to prove this movie is going to be great?  No.  We want one.  We feel we deserve one.  But we don't.  So please, don't be alarmed or shocked (or perhaps even happy) if we don't get a trailer for another two or three monthes.  Because we really don't need it right now.

Thanks for reading everybody!  If you enjoyed what you read, show some love and hit the read thumb!  Thoughts, agree, disagree?  Comment below!  Peace out.

You're right, it doesn't matter. I'm going to be there opening night anyway.

As for that Age of Box Office flick...

Might catch the blu-ray if I have a few bucks to spare

But BvS is the biggest film from DC ever made.

So releasing a teaser(probably 2) 13 months away isn't a big deal.

Really surprised they didn't help Jupiter with the teaser(s).

True, we'll get the trailer pretty soon, probably late february, early march.

Only one thing is crystal clear, the teaser will break the internet, whether it was a good one or a bad one.

@Malakas

meh, from what i've read WB wasn't really expecting much from Jupiter Asscending. They're weren't doing what sony did with TASM 2, which is expect a billion

No we don't need a trailer. But the spoiled fanboy in all of us wants this as soon as possible. We have known for over a year that this movie was filming but we haven't had much of anything but false plots & scripts to go on. Now that filming has finished ( I think it has), nothing is going to stop the inner fanboy from desiring this trailer as early as possible.
Great write up.

You're right. It's not the trailer we need...

... but it's the one we deserve!

It's like this-100% of Everyone would like to see this movie still be released this year(I think it would have been pretty cool to move it up to October of this year, but whatever). As far as a trailer goes, I mean yeah it would be nice but I think WB wants to wait till the right time to get us even more pumped; meaning-the earliest we get anything(probably a teaser first) would be sometime in the Summer at best.

We don't need a trailer. We don't need Batman v Superman. We don't need any movies. A need is a necessity/something you have to have to survive. We can proceed living day to day without any form of entertainment likes movies, tv, books, etc., let alone a BvS trailer.

I just don't want to

I would love for a Batman v Superman trailer to come out soon. It's the trailer i'm looking forward too the most but honestly i think WB's should just wait to release a trailer after the buzz around Age of Ultron has ended, maybe June or July would be suitable for a release of a teaser trailer.

Haven't you seen the Comic Con footage?
It's not CGI.

ANYBODY who says they AREN'T going to see this movie is a [frick]ing liar. Stop lying to yourself, stop lying to appear too cool for school, stop lying to appear as if you could give 2 shits. Let the EMO Hipsters lie about not caring how they dress, let the politicians lie about what they are really doing in office, let SeaHawks fans keep lying to themselves about that last play....DON'T LIE TO THE COMIC BOOK GODS ABOUT BATMAN V SUPERMAN- you are going to see it, we are all going to see it....at least once.
