Marvel: 1, DC: 0? New Report Claims That WB Are Moving BATMAN VS SUPERMAN To April
Warner Bros. Brazil have reportedly confirmed that they will be releasing Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman in the South American country on April 28th, and the new plan in the US is to debut the movie there a week before Marvel's untitled 2016 release on the 29th! Read on for details...
Brazilian website Judão (via HeyUGuys) are claiming to have heard from their sources at Warner Bros. Brazil that Batman Vs. Superman will be released there on April 28th. Yes, that's a Thursday, but movies do actually hit theatres there on that day of the week. However, most interesting is the fact that they go on to reveal that the studio has also told them that the plan is for the Zack Snyder helmed movie to also debut in the US a week early on April 29th; seven days before the release of Marvel's Untitled 2016 Movie on May 6th. They do stress that this hasn't been 100% confirmed, but the fact that the information has come from directly the studio may be very telling and certainly adds some legitimacy to the report. Ultimately, this makes sense. By going up against each other, neither movie would truly win. At least now, Batman Vs. Superman gets a solid week at #1, while Marvel's movie (quite possible a new property like Doctor Strange) stands a great chance of also doing well. Are Warner Bros. hoping that grateful fans who are happy to get the the movie a week early will ignore the fact they've backed down? We'll have to wait for official confirmation...
