Zack Snyder visits Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, MSU Campus to scout a BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN filming location

Production is slated to begin in the second quarter, but according to tweets collected by HenryCavillOnline.com, director Zack Snyder was hanging around the otherwordly-looking Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum on the MSU Campus. Get all the details after the jump.

Details are still scarce at the moment, but it seems as though Zack Snyder was scouting a modern looking construction as a filming location for the upcoming Batman vs. Superman. Various tweets sent out following his visit, one of which came from an MSU faculty member pictured with Zack in a tweet below, certainly point to the idea.

In taking a second to think about it, it's easy to form two very plausible purposes the museum could serve in being a filming location.

Superman's Fortress of Solitude

Touched up with some of Zack's famous CGI magic, there's no reason this couldn't serve as the Man of Steel's famous fortress of solitude. It's definitely got the look for it.

Hall of Justice

What if this isn't being scouted as an alien location at all? What if it's not even for Batman vs. Superman? Rumors have circulated that the long-awaited Justice League is being shot back-to-back with Batman vs. Superman for efficiency in production time and costs, perhaps this is Zack Snyder's idea of a potential headquarters for the team.

Check out photos of the location, and leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I absolutely agree. If BvS doesn't work out, then Snyder's career will be over.

But if it does, I think he'll have undeniably established himself as a really solid director.

I love how everyone thinks Snyder's career will be over if this movie doesnt work. One movie doesn't completely destroy a career unless it is just a complete and utter train wreck. Hell look at M. Night Shyamalan he [frick]s up every film and still gets to make movies.

Snyder is a solid director as long as he's given a good script and he's not writing.

@aevelasquez "But if it does, I think he'll have undeniably established himself as a really solid director."

But he already has. Dawn of the Dead, 300, the Watchmen, and Man of Steel were all critically acclaimed and highly praised movies.

It's amusing and yet confounding to me how so many people (and I'm not necessarily accusing you of this) look for a movie to tank because they may not like the director, the leading actors, or the writers - why don't you just wait to find out. So many of you have been proven wrong in the past. Christian Bale would never make it past his first movie. You couldn't see Heath Ledger as the Joker, so that movie would collapse. Blah blah blah.

Why don't you just wait for things to flesh out and become a critic after you've seen the movie. 99% of the people on here couldn't do what Snyder does, let alone write a good screenplay, let alone writing a good comic book.

I am more of a Wolverine fan over the Spartans but that museum would be an excellent choice for the Fortress of Solitude. I hope if the Fortress of Solitude is shown in the movie you will get to see some cool scenes inside of it. I would love to see some of the creatures Superman has found from across the galaxy after the Man of Steel movie. It would be so cool to see the museum that Superman has made in it of different things from around the world and planets. Just think how cool the alien zoo Kal-El would have in this movie with Zack Snyder making the film.

If this does not become the Fortress of Solitude but instead the Hall of Justice. That would be interesting too. Not just because of it being the Hall of Justice but because that means Justice League would also be filmed in Michigan. That would be great for the state. With two really big superhero movies being filmed here maybe more movies would too someday.

McNyagano@ While it wasn't universally acclaimed by critics it did have its fair share of critics who loved it.

The DCCU version of the Fortress was the probe ship. Would make a good all of Justice, though. But since it's a pre-existing and recognisable museum, maybe they're are just looking for a really cool museum for an homage to the Flugenheim from Batman 1989.

@EkklesiaRobb No, I know that, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of those movies, they keyword in what I said was "undeniably." Sure there are always going to be trolls, doubters, and haters out there, but this movie has the potential to establish him as one of the leading visual directors working today.

S.T.A.R. Labs? Even though Prof. Hamilton died in MoS.... or just another super-secret LexCorp lab. Snyder could be scouting locales for JL film, assuming that production will be continuous. Then we could get Atomic Skull, assuming again this is a version of S.T.A.R. Labs. Sweet find.

I'm of the opinion that the delay for BvS is a GOOD idea and will only help DC/WB get their ducks in a row. I'm not hot on the idea of Goyer continuing his narrative of Superman, but I'm excited to see fans like Snyder taking the story to the next level..

Didn't anyone possibly think maybe its for a scene that involves Lex discovering about the kryptonite?
aevelasquez
aevelasquez - 1/24/2014, 4:30 PM
That just seems way too specific to be a real possibility, I mean maybe, but thinking that assumes a lot of things, two of which include:
1) There's actually Kryptonite in this Universe, let alone in the movie.
2) Lex discovers it and what it does in this movie.
