DC Studios Boss James Gunn Debunks Wild Rumor About Margot Robbie's DCU Future As HARLEY QUINN

With reports swirling that Margot Robbie is being eyed to play Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has been forced to debunk a wild rumour about her future as Harley Quinn...

The increase in social media "scoopers" has become a real problem in recent years. While there are those who do have a solid track record, it's obvious that many are making up common sense rumours in the hope of gaining a following and some clout to go along with it.

That's the case for one random Twitter account that's been dropping a series of DCU scoops which, if their 166 followers are any indication, hasn't paid off for them.

However, one did recently catch the attention of DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn.

Claiming the plan is for a new actress to be cast as Harley Quinn after recent reports Margot Robbie will join the cast of Fantastic Four as Sue Storm, it was alleged that her supposed Marvel Studios deal prohibits the actress from returning as The Joker's beau.

While it's somewhat believable (aside from the source), Gunn was having none of it. "Dude, why do you just keep posting lies? Sometimes they’re just stupid made up stuff," he says in the Tweet below. "But other times, making up bullshit like this about people I care about, can be hurtful."

The Suicide Squad director has repeatedly hinted he'll reunite with Robbie in the DCU, likely meaning there are big plans for Harley despite the fact Birds of Prey's box office performance suggested there isn't an appetite for a solo movie revolving around the character.

We'll see what happens, but the actress is perfectly cast as the anti-hero and Gunn might be the one who finally explores her romantic relationship with Poison Ivy in live-action.

What do you think the future holds in store for Harley Quinn?

Good for Gunn for shutting this down with no hint of equivocation. Needs to be done more often when B.S. is put out online.

The clown admitted to making an account, spreading what he wanted to happen as "leaks" and to get real info. Gladly he said he'll delete the account, before calling out Grace Randolph, who is the true snake oil saleswoman

@bobevanz - And the sad thing is this site still reported it, even though Gunn's intent was to stop such bs from being spread. Not surprising though, not like I expected integrity.

Most of the time when Gunn reacts to rumors, it's because he HASN"T MADE A DECISION YET.

Of course he reacts like that.

Imagine being friends with Margot Robbie, yet she has to find out from TWITTER that she's been recast lol.

On the one hand I like that Gunn puts randos in their place sometimes, but honestly I think the dude needs to just be above it and let it go. Never more obvious how easily wound up he is than in that recent interview with Pratt where they’re reading tweets, and you can see from Gunn’s face that he keeps misinterpreting them as hostile at first and getting defensive before seeing Pratt react with a laugh and realising they’re not going after them. Pratt is so casual and Gunn is rearing to go haha, ready to brawl 😂

But Mr. Gunn, I thought we were making a clean break from the old DCEU?

He straight up admitted to lying to get clicks and then is deleting his account. What a creep. Glad he got called out (dumbest move was including Gunn's account in the lie).

I bet that was Gunn behind that website and he’s just talking to himself.

Dumbt tweet looking for reactions but in hindsight, it may have just make Gunn react in a way that makes it eaiser enough to infer that Margot Robbie will stay as Harley Quinn.

Which just goes to confirm again that he's cherry-picking favourites with the reboot. And that isn't really an objective way to start the "right" DCU.
