Last month, a rumor did the rounds that Warner Bros. had offered Lady Gaga a lead role in Cathy Yan's Birds of Prey, but the singer-turned-actress decided to pass. Now, a new report suggests that the studio hasn't given up and has offered the highly in-demand star a lot more money.

The character they want her to play? Either Black Canary OR Huntress.

Gaga is coming off great acclaim for her performance in A Star is Born and is most likely destined for even bigger things to come in Hollywood - something WB is clearly well aware of.

We'll have to take this with the ever-ready gran of salt for now, but the report does come from DanielRPK/SuperBroMovies who has been spot on when it comes to DC-related scoops in the past.

I don't believe it....but then again this is WB and they have enjoyed stunt casting in the DCEU so far to VERY mixed results.

They should the buzz surrounding her new movie continues to grow and she has a huge loyal fanbase, still in great shape but she will have physical limitatons.

Especially if the rumors are true they want an actress who can also sing.

I'm not a big fan of musicians acting it just doesn't work for me. The only exception to this is Tom Waits.

I have no trouble believing this, and hope she accepts. Black Canary makes way more sense than Huntress, though.

@RorMachine - I'd say it makes about as much sense as Huntress.



However, if this rumor is true and Gaga actually signs on and picks Huntress, it actually makes me believe that rumor about Canary possibly being mixed. If they go with white Huntress, I expect Canary to be something else. And I'm okay with it.

I don't know. Maybe she can act. I'm not too knowledgeable about her other than Poker Face and her abnormal clothes.

@KWilly - As far as her singing goes, she's actually done a duet jazz album with Tony Bennett. I doubt someone as serious as him would want anything to do with a hack, plus I just look at that part of her career as only the first chapter. Acting wise I liked her in American Horror Story Hotel

@Pantherpool - It's about putting butts in seats. A lesser known actress might not do that.
