A recent rumor claimed to reveal the title of Black Panther director Ryan Cooger's mysterious vampire movie starring Killmonger actor Michael B. Jordan, and Warner Bros. has now confirmed that the project is indeed called Sinners.

We also have a brief teaser, and while it doesn't feature any footage from the movie, but the first proper trailer will be online at some point tomorrow.

You can check out the logline below, which confirms that Jordan will play twin brothers.

"Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back."

Check out the teaser at the link below.

Back when we first heard about this project, it was said to be so top secret that "executives and buyers were forced to make the pilgrimage to the Beverly Hills offices of WME, the agency that represents Coogler and Jordan, in order to take a gander at the script," but some details have since leaked.

The film was initially described as a "genre feature," with a "period element to the story," and we'd later learn that it was actually going to be set in Jim Crow-era South and possibly involve both vampires and Southern supernatural traditions.

Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, Edge of Seventeen) recently signed on in an undisclosed role, joining previously-announced cast members Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo and Jack O’Connell.

Mosaku is said to be playing Jordan's love-interest (which twin remains to be seen), while O'Connell is believed to have been cast as a "racist antagonist."

Coogler also penned the script and is on board as lead producer along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.

Coogler's last feature was Marvel Studios Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which saw Jordan reprise his role as Erik Killmonger for an afterlife cameo. Last we heard, the filmmaker was working on a third Black Panther instalment, but there's been no official word on his progress. Coogler is also said to be involved in at least one planned small-screen BP spin-off, and was recently rumored as a possible contender to helm Avengers: Secret Wars.

The filmmaker is also taking charge of an X-Files reboot for the Disney-owned 20th Century Studios, so he's going to be very busy over the next couple of years.

Been dying to see Coogler back to being out of the Marvel machine, fully unleashed. The anime influences in this have me intrigued too. And you know the score by Göransson is gonna be killer.

The teaser images look like a guitar, and the music sounds like strings being plucked. Im guessing the brothers are musicians or something.

@ReverseFlasher - maybe. a deep-stringed-instrument like the cello is almost guaranteed in a good vampire flick.

The music sounds promising.....

@HerrmanM - The irony is that a white man
greenlit and produced this film, (David Zaslav produced this film)... yet your qualms seem to be with the apparent racist black people that are somehow running society.🙄 The same society that legally and literally had black people strung up on trees about a hundred years...the same society that's now trying to eliminate critical race theory and ethnic studies in schools - (to hide the fact that white people legally strung up and killed black people). - But by all means your discomfort is more important...it's not like white people still don't get whatever they want.

@Smithsonian - I hear you bro. I just think sometimes it's like bashing your head against brick wall trying to get the message across to some peeps. I'll know I'll never truly know what our people went through...but I'm proud to have knowledgeable people like yourself who keep up the fight and passing on information. Respect sir!
HermanM
HermanM - 9/24/2024, 9:47 AM
@Smithsonian - Zaslav is a zionist jew, like 90% of the rest of Hollywood, and is happy to help nonwhites promote an anti white agenda anywhere they can because when Zaslav's people are outside of their own community, they are a minority, so they look for other potentially embittered minorities to enflame their grievances against the majority group and then direct said minority to go against them. It's called cultural marxism. It's why blacks in media are allowed to bash white people all day, but the second they start criticizing jews, they get canceled, like Kanye West.

No one is denying that blacks have been mistreated in the past, but white people literally fought a war to end slavery, while it still continues in black countries to this day. Why don't you look up who ran the slave trade and brought them here in the first place? Who owned the slave ships? It is not the ancestors of the common white man, which is whom Coogler wants to villainize, but the ancestors of Zaslav, Epstein, Maxwell, and the other media elite.

Smithsonian
Smithsonian - 9/24/2024, 11:43 AM
@HermanM - Oh lord..not that zionist rhetoric 🙄 since you mentioned Kanye, are you smoking from the same pipe has him too? 🤔 Do you think black people are the true Israelites?...🤔

-- And I am well aware that EVERYBODY had a part in the trans-atlantic slave trade including Africans...however white Anglo-Americans are the ones who predominantly fed black babies to Alligators...and used black peoples body parts as accessories in their homes...they are the ones who implemented racist laws that still affect black people to this day...At least white jewish people have the common decency to acknowledge that.

And ironically the trailer didn't even promote hatred towards white people...even if the film does..you don't have to go see it...that's the luxury of freewill.
HermanM
HermanM - 9/24/2024, 11:52 AM
@Smithsonian - It's just a fact of how power works: to learn who rules over you, find out who you can't criticize. You can bash white people all day. Even blacks are allowed to be bashed sometimes. One group is never allowed to be, and that's Zaslav's, and they don't acknowledge their dominance of the slave trade, but try to blame it on whites who had outlawed slavery in the colonies. Europe didn't have slavery. The black parts of Africa still have slavery.

As for your fanciful claims of babies fed to alligators and using human body parts as hoke accessories, that stuff is utter bullshit.

Do you know what necklacing is? This is a well known practice of blacks in Africa that they do to themselves. Quite brutal. But you only notice violence if someone outside of your community is doing it, despite blacks being the biggest destroyers of other blacks.
Smithsonian
Smithsonian - 9/24/2024, 12:06 PM
@HermanM - You do know there is literal proof that white people did that stuff tho?-- There are old flyers.

-- And ain't nobody was bashing your precious white people until you brought up the topic of hatred towards white people. -- It's like you're seeking conflict

-- The movie takes place in the south during Jim crow, what do you expect?...Dragons to appear, white angelic elves to usher black people to the shores...that shit didn't happen during those times. -- Plus I would prefer a fictionalized version of the Jim crow era that still depicts the horrors over the same standard slave film for white people to get off on, any day.

Maybe you should save this anger for when 13 years a slave comes out or something.
HermanM
HermanM - 9/24/2024, 12:17 PM
@Smithsonian - no, there isn't proof that white people were feeding black babies to alligators and made lamps and appliances out of them and all of that other bullshit you claim.

The movie's premise revolves around bashing white people, like most of Coogler's films.

What is the "standard slave film" that white people get off on? I don't know of any white person that gets off on watching movies about blacks meant to demonize whites. Perhaps some ethno-masochist out there does, but normal people do not.
Smithsonian
Smithsonian - 9/24/2024, 12:33 PM
@HermanM - And that's Coogler's prerogative - are you going to picket his films at the off chance white people won't like you anymore? -- Plus the man's from Oakland, you think he cares about your opinion.

And yes, most slave movies seem masochistic.

...And its funny how you accuse me of only looking for wrongs with white culture when there are many African practices that I do not agree with, including the disfigurement of female genitalia, but that's there tradition...

-- This movie is about Black American issues not African issues. -- Mr. Save A White Man.

HermanM
HermanM - 9/24/2024, 2:40 PM
@Smithsonian - The only opinions Coogler cares about are his financiers, who are all IDF supporters.

Yes, this is yet another movie about how evil white people are, something there is an over supply of but no demand for. Why not do stories showing the horrors of how slavery continues in black countries to this day, and the actual problems in the black community, which are mostly caused by other black people?

Man. I'm ready for a new Vampire flick to be a game-changer again.

Last one i saw that was epic was Josh Hartnett's "30 Days of Night."

Then, before then? All the way back to "From Dusk 'Till Dawn."

It's WAY past time for an influential vamp flick!
