Black Panther is projected to keep the top spot at the North American box office this coming weekend, according to Tuesday's forecasts. Variety is reporting that the film could earn as much as $75 million in 4,020 theatres during its third weekend.

The Ryan Coogler-directed film has already become the third-highest grossing MCU movie at the domestic box office. With two R-rated films in Death Wish and Red Sparrow being its biggest competition this weekend, the film should continue its impressive run.

A February release is giving Black Panther a lot of legs, as it looks like the film could keep its spot at the top until the release of A Wrinkle In Time, another Disney production, on March 9.

March features tough weekly competition, as Tomb Raider, Pacific Rim Uprising and Ready Player One open in consecutive weeks.

Black Panther has earned over $411 million domestically to this point, and $316,200,000 in foreign markets.

I knew a Black Panther movie with the stellar cast it had, directed by Ryan Coogler, and produced by Marvel Studios would be a hit.

I did not however, think it would be this much of a hit. It's like someone gave me the heart shaped herb to drink, buried me in sand and I'm now in the Ancestral Plane.

@InfinityCipher - I am so hyped for that movie. I loved all of the trailers, especially the first one that no one else seemed to dig.

@InfinityCipher - I’m so down with Steven Spielbergo but this movie looks to be an Artificial Intelligence mess. Definitely won’t be seeing in theaters. When the cgi dude is rallying the troops it just feels so hollow to me.
