After accepting the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards tonight, Scarlett Johansson shared the first official clip from Marvel Studios' Black Widow.

The sneak peek features an adrenaline-pumping action scene as "sisters" Natasha Romanoff (Johansson) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) take a minute to bond while narrowly evading some baddies.

The clip isn't particularly revealing, but does feature some fun banter between the pair as Yelena proves to be a pain in Nat's side as she pokes holes in her escape plan.

Cate Shortland (Berlin SyndromeLore) directed the long-awaited standalone, and in addition to Johansson and Pugh, the film's ensemble cast will introduce several new characters into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, including 2x Primetime Emmy-nominee David Harbour (Stranger Things; Hellboy) as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Academy Award-winner Rachel Weisz (The Favourite; The Mummy) as Melina Vostokoff, and O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's TaleMaxxx) as Rick Mason.

Black Widow arrives in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on July 9.

In Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—the action-packed spy thriller launches simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access in most Disney+ markets on July 9, 2021.

Honestly the family dynamic was one of the best things they could've did for this movie. Pugh and Johansson seem to have good chemistry.

@PantherKing - That elevator music is the same song that played when he tore out that one guy's eye in The Avengers.

The Car Chase did not really carry any weight to it, neither of our main characters feel threatened so we as the audience don't feel threatened.

In addition the car chase is randomly edited, at 00:32 our accompanying female lead is smiling while during the car chase and turning around to see what's behind her, but the shots before and after showing her in the vehicle she is already facing backwards.

Generally it just feels empty and sloppy. Should have shown something with Taskmaster if they wanted to get people hyped.

@Scarilian - maybe they the threatening feeling is yet to come?

Agree on the editing, didn't really feel "action-packed"

@ShellyMando - could see him actually being a LMD/android/robot or something. I really hope thats not the case, but i could see it. My gut says its just OT Fagnibele though. He’s getting billed as a supporting member yet we haven’t seen him in like any of the promotional material other than a poster.

Feeling like this one is gonna be special. Seems like they went for a specific type of raw and rugged vibe that's even more true to the spy genre than Winter Soldier was.

Yeah… this doesn’t look great. It’s only a short scene taken out of context, but this (and the old trailers) make this look like a poor attempt at replicating Mission Impossible Fallout

Anyone else notice that in movies when bullets got through the back window of a car they just stop afterwards, they don’t go through the seats or the front window they just disappear after breaking the back window. 🤷‍♂️

I imagine they want to pick a middle of the park action sequence that doesn't give away anything. If they did, they accomplished their job. This was pretty average, but with a nice hook at the end.

The action was fine, but something did feel a little off. The door thing was clever though.

I'm still not sold on the whole family thing either. Not the biggest fan of when its done in movies, and this has convinced me yet to think otherwise with this one.
