COMICS: New Female BLADE Series Announced

Well, the Daywalker himself will also feature , but this new ongoing series from Tim Seeley and Logan Faerber will place the focus on his 16-year-old daughter, Fallon Grey. Check out the artwork that was featured today at the San Diego Comic Con "Women Of Marvel" panel.

Here's what Seeley had to say to CBR about this new take on Blade: "My goal is to make the monsters scary again — the way they were to me then. I think, too often with modern horror, the reader knows too many of the 'rules' and that makes vampires and zombies less frightening. Blade is going against stuff he's never seen before, and I want the reader to be afraid to hide this under their beds." And his "normal" daughter, Fallon Grey: "My take on Fallon is that she's an 'anti-Peter Parker,'" the writer said. "She's popular, well liked, and everyone around her thinks she has the future by the balls. But those kind of expectations come with their own stresses, and part of Fallon's story will be dealing with what people expect her to be." More at the link below.

More Blade is always good, but why not give Eric Brooks another story instead.

Well this is a good way to setup a Netflix series that can still include an older Westley Snipes. He's the right age to play her father and he can still be a major player.

Not female Blade it's Blade and his daughter so the title is kinda misleading

If she's blades daughter, is she 3/4 human or 3/4 vamp? Or was there some double daywalker action going on?

What would've been cool is if she were if Blade and X-23 hooked up. Half Daywalker, half Wolverine. That shit would be unreal.

What is up with these ignorant people commenting who didn't even bother to read? Blade is in the comic alongside his daughter. Shows how stupid and ignorant people are. Let me jump to the comments and say "be [frick]ing original and creative" but I didn't bother to read. Maybe you all need to go back to school to learn how to read. Or maybe when you sat to the SAT you were so bored that you went straight to the answers and started marking B for every question.

I'm getting seriously [frick]ing sick of this shit. You can't just gender swap a character and then go look! We love Women!

Unfortunately this is all it takes to please the simple minded SJW.

Once again, DC fanboys running to a Marvel article to slam Marvel for making a character a woman. Except... they haven't. It's his daughter. Don't let that stop your biased and bitter nonsense though. Oh, and over in [pick any DC article] there's Marvel fanboys complaining about DC. Oh, an interesting Marvel story... comments full of DC fanboys whining. An interesting DC article... think I'll stop reading before the comments. This is a great site, love coming on here, but the community? Dear God, there are too many [can't say the word I want] who are more interested in what a company they claim to not like are doing than one they do like. Why? Is your life that boring? Imagine actually hating something more than liking what you do like. So sad.

This is getting ridiculous now.

They've done away with pretty much every character and put new people in their mantles. This has to stop.

At this rate i'll only be paying attention to X-Men and DD. At least those characters will still be the people I know and love.

@ Lafayette:

Uhmmmm, you know there are no DC fan boys in this thread, right? But hey, by all means carry on. It's quite entertaining, watching you shake your fist at the sky for no reason.

Is everyone on this page incapable of reading an article? Or do you just skip it to come to the comments to bitch and moan about "gender-swapping and SJWs"?

I have no problem with Marvel having Blade's daughter take over.

But why call it Blade if it's about his daughter?

I feel Marvel is doing too much at once. Blade's daughter now Blade, Jane is Thor, X-23 is now Wolverine, Falcon is Captain America, there's a new Hulk.

Gotta sell comics I guess. Funny how Tony Stark still gets to be Iron Man though.

So far the only titles I'll get is Ultimates(even though it's 616 characters) and Uncanny Inhumans. Everything else to me so far...I'll feel like Marvel is doing the most.

"I think, too often with modern horror, the reader knows too many of the 'rules' and that makes vampires and zombies less frightening."

So true. That's part of what makes the Witcher games so enjoyable. You never know for sure whether a creature is just a poor wretch worthy of sympathy, or is some unrepentant monster who will (and frequently can) rip your face off without hesitation.
