RickMalambri: What do you guys think, you think I could be Captain America? Going in for Disney/Marvel tomorrow.
about 2 hours ago from Tweetie

IronNuts2: My gut reaction is this must be a joke. With stellar roles such as Floppy Haired Guy in the hillarious show "How I Met Your Mother" and as Clerk in Bruce Willis' "Surrogates" my expectations are pretty low. He does (sort of) look the part. Anyhow, reading beyond....CAPTAIN AMERICA AUDITIONS ARE BEING HELD AS WE SPEAK! Hopefully this will yield some casting news in the near future. Fingers crossed this turns out well and Marvel makes a good decision, with their recent casting decisions they have earned my faith.

Not sure about this. I can't help but think they already have their Cap and have yet to release the info. Who know though.

And Rick...if you read this. By all means, good luck man. I hope you kill it and prove your acting chops. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Like ecksman, I can't shake off the notion that they've already cast cap, but if they haven't, It is a bit late to be starting.

Supermario and Ecksmanfan: I have thought the same thing for a long time now. But of course we could be wrong about that.

Johnston has still been highly focused on his last project up until very very recently, and it's almost always the Director that casts the lead or leads. So maybe he really hasn't picked anyone.

Personally I am FED UP with waiting for news on this

@Darth- Agreed. We've had soo much speculation and guessing, it's just getting old. Hopefully sooner than later.

I wish they would start filming some of these at the Florida sound stages in Universal or Disney. It would be awesome to be an extra one of these, I cannot trek all the way to California or Canada. So far I have only got to be in a couple studio audiences for Roller Jam when it was on the air years ago.

@Darth

Me too man. The wait is killing me. The production for this film is moving a bit too slow for my taste, but it will all work in the end. I feel worse for the people waiting on the next Superman movie.

Malambri certainly is a handsome dude. But that's not all it takes to fill these shoes!

@ mario: hELLS' BELLS I'm like a kids that's gotta pee!

But those Superman folks have it a lot worse than us. They are dreaming about something that's not coming for years and they never shut up about Tom Welling who will never be Superman! We get our movie NEXT YEAR!!! BOO YA!!!!!

WarNoodle - 1/11/2010, 10:20 PM
hmmm... He does have a Cap look. Hes got my vote. plus hes 6 foot 2.. pretty good height for the Captain. And hes still not a big name in hollywood... so I like that. I like the no name good actors. Especially for marvel/Dc movies.

Mark Paul Gosselaar for Cap....think about it, kinda quirky at first but could work. He has experience, looks, and kinda go for marvels casting theme "almost forgotten actors making a big comeback" mickey rouke, robert downey jr, anthony hopkins. if these marvel movies havent been made no kid nowadays would know who they are.

I still think they should use a relatively unknown, but talented actor for Cap. If they are doing casting calls for Cap, that would lead me to believe they aren't just considering a few big names that they are hand-picking for the role. Not sure about this guy, but he has the features and All-American look to pull off the role. Much better than some of the other names being thrown around. The question is...can he act?
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 1/11/2010, 10:25 PM
No guys @ JASON LEWIS, SAM WORTHINGTON, MICHAEL WEATHERLY, LEO D, CHRIS CARMACK or RYAN Mc guy from CHUCK!

He might be good--I'll put my faith in Marvel, as they've done a great job casting so far.

Also, probably old news, but I read on IMDB (which also makes me think it's unlikely) that Thomas Jane and Nathan Fillion are both in talks for the roll. I love both of the actors, but they're both too old and Fillion's completely wrong for the part (I think Jane could pull it off, but I think it's unlikely he'd be cast).

Malambri hasn't done much for acting roles. I watched a couple short clips from Surrogates and from When I Met Your Mother and not enough to really go by. He is starring in Step-Up 3D. Yes, he is a dancer.

i can see it.
dye his hair, get some contacts
he's 28. not too much of a stretch.
question: if he gets the part, how are they going to make him look like a Pre-Captain America Steve Rogers?

I read a theory somehwere that the Thor castings were a way to screen for Cap castings as well. I think that theory has something to it.

he might make a good captain america. i dont think jason lewis would work. hes too pretty. cant have captain america being pretty. he needs a mullet and beer holders on his belt and back of shield.
Phinehas
Phinehas - 1/12/2010, 12:45 AM
He needs to be a younger guy. Mark Paul Gosselar or Josh Duhamel are too old now.
TheDrizzle
TheDrizzle - 1/12/2010, 12:47 AM
I have a feeling that Worthington will land the role. You know he'll audition for it if he hasn't already. I think his massive interest in the role combined with the massive success of Avatar will be too much for them to pass up. That being said, I wouldn't mind him getting the role. I'm one of the few that didn't enjoy Avatar but it wasn't because of Worthington. I'll be happy with either Worthington or Ackles if either one lands the part. Really hope that they don't give it to Leo, Damon, or Gay-son Lewis.
