The actor who will play Steve Rogers in Marvel Studios' Captain America: The First Avenger next year is also known to comic fans for playing the Human Torch in two Fantastic Four movies, Jensen in The Losers and Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Here, he talks about why exactly he thinks he's been in so many of these types of movies which I've transcribed below. "I really didnt grow up reading comic books so I didnt have too much interest in them. Its been kind of coincidental that I've made so many comic book films. It's just kind of been what's out there right now. A lot of studios are making comic book movies. They're great material to kind of transition to films and its just kind of worked out that I've ended up in a few."

First of all, he is dead sexy. That needed to be said. XD

But second, I'm glad that he is forthright about it. I notice a lot more actors saying stuff like that, and I honestly prefer it to the obvious bullcrap like "Oh yeah! I read EVERY ISSUE OF THE FLASH when I was a kid! Wally Garrick is my hero!"

patriautism: I was a big McPartlin supporter as well, but I think that they made the right choice by casting Chris Evans in the role! I've not seen a bad performance from the guy even when he's been in crap like Fantastic Four! :P

And yeah, I agree with you guys - it's good to see an actor being honest instead of pretending to be a lifelong fan of a character they know nothing about!

I guess he's a fan of doing a good job, because he consistently does just that.

Plus more power to em! He's getting plenty of work and that's more than you can say for a whole lot of Hollywood types that DON'T have his humble attitude.

let me just say this in case i ever end up famous. batman is my favourite superhero, i grew up loving the character and it would be my dream come true to direct a batman movie.

unless of course i get to direct another superhero, because then i am and have always been a lifelong fan of whoever that happens to be.

its nice to see an actor being honest about this type of thing for once. go chris!
