Could this be the Red Skull we see in the Captain America movie?

Here's a variation of the comic character that many people aren't familiar with.

Will the NEW face of Red Skull be used for the upcoming Captain America movie? I just stumbled upon this image while at midtowncomics.com, and thought this was an interesting picture, worthy of discussion. Since the films are drawing from the Ultimate universe, this might be what Red Skull will look like on film:

Here is a description of this issue:

It’s an all out super hero throw-down! Captain America and The Avengers face-off as the dreaded Red Skull plots universal mayhem! How will Fury’s death squad cope with the legend and his son? The world as we know it is on the line!

I posted this over at earthsmightiest.com, but I felt like I should post it HERE also. . . So what do you think?

Just looks like an Ultimate comic to me, tattoos on the head and everything.

But it is the look I want to see for the movie though, well, more so the head, everything else about Ult. RS can drown in a lake. I'm looking at YOU, idea that RS is Steve's illegitimate son! Watch yourself...

P862010- LOL..no this is just speculation!

TYLER- HAHA..I agree with you about the "ultimate"
storyline..cause red skull is NOT steves
son! and I won't except that!

MULTI- TRUST ME that is the RED SKULL I want to
see also!, But I am worried thatthey won't
go that extreme. they might try to use
the Ultimate skull instead to appeal more
"regular" audiances.

@Multi
if Guillermo Del Toro can pull off Kroenen from Hellboy, Johnston can pull of Red Skull!

@ MPP

i'm with you man!! i know a lot of people were saying it would be hard to pull Red Skull off on film, but i dont agree with that at all. why would a red skull for a head be hard? prosthetics and CGI where needed, it could look fantastic.

plus, 616 Red Skull might be one of the most straight up evil villains ever created. what a sick bastard that guy is. i can't wait to see how they do him.

This site should have a bullsh#t tab for crap like this.

@ nordberg: the casting could mean that he aint up for the cap roll. so it could be importent as he's one of the marvel wishlist. so in my opinion this could be importent news regarding the captain america casting.

@mpp: stil does not explain wy it was taken offline :)

Understood, but c'mon... this isn't news, spoiler, or rumor. It's pure speculation submitted by a CBM reader.

Well it seems like were on the same page here!

I'm just worried that they (director/writers)
WON'T use the RED SKULL (multi's picture)
but instead they are going to use (ultimate Skull).
that would NOT be good.
But will general audiences LIKE or even know WHO
Red Skull is? I mean I'm sure they will have some
sort of "origin" for SKULL, in the CAP movie. but will that be enough for GENERAL movie gowers to say
"WOW red skull is BAD ASS!"

Wait so the red skull is cap's son? Another article said that Hal Jordan was a near-coward. Cable is Wolverine from the future? what else have I missed?

@Anil: Agreed. Ult Red Skull comes into his own in Ult Avengers issue 5. Which reminds me I gotta put up the post soon.

@Peter: Good thread you got going. I'm also a little worried they wont be able to give enough screen time to characters like the Red Skull to do them justice.

I remember being a little kid and watching the Captain America movie and being terrified of the Red Skull's horrifying dark, bloody face (at the beginning of the movie). I want that same feel in this movie. The Red Skull could re-invent the face of evil if done right. I want it to be so horrifying that I have to look away the first time I see the movie.

Starsapphire: In the Ultimate Marvel Universe which was started about 10 years ago, there are some deviations from the traditional (Earth 616) Marvel Universe. In Ultimate Marvel the Red Skull is Cap's son, Cable is Wolverine from the future, the Hulk is grey, Nick Fury is a brotha, and Peter Parker is a teenage high schooler who has dated Mary Jane, Kitty Pride, and is currently in a relationship with Gwen Stacy. Also, Colosus from the X-Men is gay. Some people like the Ultimate Marvel line (me) and some absolutely hate it (Lee). I couldn't tell you about the Hal Jordan thing.

n HELL No to the SKULL being cap's son!!!

peterparker420 - 3/4/2010, 12:06 PM
JUSME6- Thanks! I thought it would be a nice topic
to discuss, I agree if done right the Red Skull
could be very menising and evil, but if they
make him an evil real estate agent, like
they did with Lex Luthor in Superman Returns,
that would be a huge blow to us comic fans.
(LOL! TYLER YOU KNOW I HAD TO GO THERE!) not
to mention a bad route to go..Red Skull
is evil at it's BEST! and I hope he gets
enough SCREEN TIME, so we can see him..well
just being HIM!

@Multi--but Red Skull wasn't deformed until way after the war...he just wore a skull mask. My only problem with him being deformed from the start (in the movie) is that it reminds me of that God-awful skinless rat from the 1990 Cap movie. And on that note, he'd better be a damned Nazi, not some young Italian pianist...

Wait collosus is gay? Let me guess Professor Xavier is his lover and secretly a girl? Or is Iron man just a mushroom wearing human skin? Just joking. ;)

Also, aside from Nick Fury...what part of these movies are "drawing from the Ultimate universe"?

@ contrast

at this point it looks like the formation of the avengers is being done the Ultimate way, meaning SHIELD is forming them. in 616, it was basically a chance meeting of heroes that showed up to stop a threat, and they decided to create a team...kind of shallow when you think about it. the way the avengers form in Ultimate universe makes a lot more sense for this day an age.

in my opinion, i think we'll be seeing the formation of the avengers being the Ultimate way, and possibly the story, but with 616 versions of the characters. (except the SHIELD characters, like Hawkeye and Widow both sound like their ultimate versions so far). its all speculation right now, but from the news we've gotten, thats what i'm betting on :)

and anyone not willing to accept that these movies will be a combination of Ultimate and 616 universes will be thoroughly disappointed with Avengers. so, considering all the hate that goes on at this site for the Ultimate universe, get ready to hear complaining like you've never heard before. lol

@Starspphire: Lol! Yeah it sounds pretty "out-there", but it can be a lot of fun to read especially if you're at all familiar with the Marvel Universe. I think they do a pretty good job of re-immaging the characters, while still staying true to the characters (if that makes any sense). My favorite Ultimate event was Ultimate Power where the heroes of the Ultimate Marvel Universe battled with the heroes of the Squadron Supreme (Power) Universe.
