As we all know, Chris Evans, who portrays the Star-Spangled Avenger in the upcoming film, Captain America: TFA, has also portrayed another iconic Marvel hero, Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four in 2005's Fantastic Four and it's sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
While there was controversy over this bit casting at first, most have become accepting of this fact, especially after the slew of footage we've seen of him as good ole' Cap.
While there has been few talks of his previous role as the Human Torch, many fans have still wondered whether or not a reference or nod to Evans's role as Johnny Storm would be made in tthe upcoming film. Such things like someone calling Steve Rogers a "Hothead" have been suggested but there has still been no evidence of such an occurence.... until now.
Now, while its no anyone saying a particular phrase, there is definitely an important action. At the 2:12 mark of the new trailer for 'Captain America', you can cleary see Steve Rogers in his Cap uniform engaging in a kiss with Peggy Carter while in a moving automobile.
Here's the trailer:
The significance of this particular bit is that it is almost exactly like Chris Evans's first on-screen appearance as Johnny Storm in the 2005 Fantastic Four film. In that scene, Johnny Storm, being the hot-head and thrill-seeker he is, engages in a makeout session with his female companion while she is in an moving car and he is alongside the car on a motorcycle all the while on the way to the fateful space expediton that would result in the FF's powers.
See the clip below:
The similarities between these two scenes are uncanny. Whether or not this was intentional on the part of Joe Johnston and those involved with Captain America: TFA is unknown but it is a very interesting tidbit.
