I'm not really into collecting action figures, but I'm liking the look of that Captain Britain one! It's also pretty cool that they're including a character like Crossbones from the current comic book series. Hopefully they'll also release Winter Soldier and Bucky as Captain America, as that might just be enough to get me to buy these things! What do you think about these and who would you like to see included when they're released next year? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released on July 22, 2011!

Thanks Tittie! (loving that username, lol!) As well as the Bucky figures I mentioned, I'd like to see The Invaders, Falcon and Sin get their own action figures. Steve Rogers in that new costume and Sharon Carter would also be pretty cool.

Captain Britain's an odd choice. Besides the obvious similarities in their names, he's nothing like Captain America, and is more of a fringe X-Men character to boot. Union Jack would make a lot more sense, since he's basically a British Captain America. But they already made a Union Jack figure in this scale, so I guess that explains that.

Why would anyone expect Captain Britain to show up in the movie, anyway? A magically empowered Guardian of the Realm flying around wielding Excalibur would completely clash with the WWII tone. A movie of Captain Britain's own would be cool, but that'll never happen. (Sorry Josh, but you know it's true.)

Wow, USAgent's shield looks ridiculous. As it should. I've always found it funny that USAgent is basically what people who have no idea what Cap is like assume Cap is like. (i.e. a jingoistic asshole)

marvel72 - 12/17/2010, 3:51 AM

we won't see "crossbones" in the first film but think he'll make an appearence in the sequel along with "baron zemo"

how cool would a "captain britain" film be with fighting the likes of "slay master" & "the fury".

that would be proper bad ass.

@ joshw

cool find.

I miss the Marvel Legends. I have an assload of those, but there are still some characters they never got to. (Maybe if they hadn't included a Wolverine in every other wave...) These 3.75" figures are nice looking, but I can't bring myself to spend around the same price for Marvel GI Joes as I did for the 6" Legends a few years ago. Stupid high petroleum prices.
ManThing

Sweet!

If they did put Captain Britain in the movie, it would probably be some screwed up non-powered version.
So maybe it's for the best that they didn't even go there.

I still don't see why Union Jack would have been such a big problem. But I'll tell you this: If it was ME making the movie I would put BOTH in there somewhere!
