As many know by now, the filming crew for Marvel's highly anticipated
Captain America: The First Avenger have begun work on transforming Manchester's Northern Quarter of Dale Street, into 1940s Brooklyn, New York. And now a blog site created specifically for the filming process, reveals images of the work done so far. Check them out below, and click them for the full size.
Preparation and production will be taking place between September 6th to October 3rd. And then there will be a week where they reinstate the streets back to their original state. As reported earlier, vintage vehicles will be parked along the sides. And footage will make up an action sequence involving a dramatic car chase, special effects and a simulated car explosion.
Also, I offhandedly mentioned this earlier, but now the
Hackney Gazette has confirmed that in addition to filming in Manchester, the crew will also be shooting at the Hackney Empire, September 15-17. And it's believed that most of the film’s leads, Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Hugo Weaving (Red Skull) Tommy Lee Jones (Col. Chester Philips) and Samuel L Jackson (Nick Fury) will all be involved in the scenes shot at the Empire.
Like me, I know you guys are anticipating set images of actual cast members, Captain America & Red Skull particularly, but I have a reason(source) to believe we'll be getting those images sooner than you think. And this same reason(source) also says things are looking amazing, and everyone is phenomenal. Anyhow,
