Further promoting Marvel's
Captain America: The First Avenger blu-ray & Dvd release now a video interview with
ABC News, 'Dum Dum Dugan' star Neal McDonough
once again seems certain he'll appear in a solo film centered on Samuel L. Jackson's ' S.H.I.E.L.D. Director, Nick Fury.' Dotting briefly on
that potential film as well the
Captain America sequel at the 2:20 mark, watch!
"Oh yeah, Cap 2 is in the works. The script is written and hopefully we will go into production fairly soon. I'm really looking forward to the Nick Fury films. Sam Jackson and myself will be partners in that one. And I know Sam is really excited about doing it. So fingers crossed we start that one up pretty soon."
I know this isn't much, but from McDonough's certainty of appearing and Jackson's "excitement," I wouldn't be too shocked if he has met up with Marvel Studios not only about
Captain America 2, but the
Nick Fury film as well. Andrew W. Marlowe, who penned a
Nick Fury screenplay a few years back, suggested at last year's Comic-Con that the
Nick Fury would surely be released after
The Avengers. So, could McDonough's recent expressions hint at development progressing? What do you think?
Captain America: The First Avenger focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull. Starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Stanley Tucci and Hugo Weaving, the film hits shelves on Dvd and blu-ray October 25, 2011.
