Scott Porter was one of the many actors on the short-list to play Captain America. And with Marvel making deals with Chris Evans, Porter now shares his experience screen-testing for the role.

"I tested for it.I got to put the shirt on,I got to put the shield on,I got to shoot on sets.We were on the Thor sets and they built little side sets for the Captain America screen tests. It was a phenom experience."

Getting over Captain America, Porter includes in the interview his interest of playing the "Flash" in Warner Bros/DC's upcoming adaption.

So what do you think about Scott Porter playing the Flash?

He did seem a little too boyish for Cap, and I don't know if his acting is quite that level yet, so I'd rather see him as someone like Barry. But he'd be a good Wally too, but he's too old, as Barry should stick around for several films before his death.

Speaking of DC, here's a DC pimp job for ya :)

Wow, it's interesting to know what they went through during the audition process! I would have been happy had he been cast but there one character he's far better suited to...

@ROR

He's in Friday Light Nights (the tv show, not the movie). He showed great range in that show, going from a football star (showing GREAT leadership ability) to a paraplegic. He probably would've done pretty well.

One thing that kinda pisses me off is all the work everyone had to go thru, but they just throw the role to EVANS. I'm all for him, but it just kinda irks me...

i think its a really dick move for them to have such an intense casting.. have people on the shortlist and work hard and compete for the role, and let evans just walk in and steal from those who worked hard for it. Lousy that they gave special treatman to someone who didnt even audition

I think it's hilarious that we had all the articles about people auditioning and Evans comes in and snatches it.

But seriously, how do we know that those who auditioned didn't totally bomb their takes? None of us were there. Perhaps they all sucked so Marvel went for an actor they have experience with and that they personally like. Plus, its not like Marvel invited Evans to their office and had someone at the front door give him a contract as he arrived. I'm pretty sure they said they talked the role over with him, so its not as if they gave him the role without any judgment on the decision. Just let it go, it's been like 2 months LOL.

It depends, he would make a pretty good Wally West, but I'm not so sure on Barry Allen.

@intyler- thats probably it. and maybe they didnt blow but jsut werent right and thats acceptable too.. nut if he didnt audition, why are they so sure he's right for the role.. its set.. I have no expectations for marvel to read this and recast lol ive accepted it but it worries me. the ingredients arent right this time around with marvel

I'm fine with it "worrying" you, thats all cool, because you may not think Evans could pull it off, which is entirely subjective. It was just your first comment when you said it was a "dick move" which I had an issue with. No biggy :)

you im not even questioning evans actually.. im sure he can do it.. it just seems like a slap in the face to those shortlisted actors. Im really not upset with the casting choice overall... i just dont think they handled it correctly

Nice guys I like your picks for Iron Fist, all who suggest Ray Park should be publicly flogged. I'd rather have an Iron Fist and Dr. Strange movie before Antman

@Blank, agreed. The way they went about the casting was BS. Nothing against Evans, but no audition? Why even hold auditions if that is who you wanted? It makes it look like the pre-production team (and maybe the director) have their heads up their rectums. Make me fear for this movie little.

I think it will be ok for Scott to DC's THE FLASH and I don't mind him playing Marvel's Captain America. But I choose Mark-Paul Gosselaar who can make an awesome role playing "The Fastest Man Alive", It's better off for Scott to play Captain America. Chris Evans already did played Fantastic 4 "The Human Torch" already. Get the whole opinion Chris Evans off and let him focus on the Fantastic 4 films.
