Gemma Chan has now wrapped on Captain Marvel, and the Humans star shared a behind-the-scenes shot to social media which gives us a glimpse of her character's appearance.

Though Chan appears to be wearing a hoodie to cover her costume, we can see that the actress will be sporting a much shorter hairstyle as the villainous Minn-Erva, a.k.a Doctor Minerva.

In the comics, this character first came to earth seeking Captain Mar-Vell in an attempt to reproduce with him and use his altered genes to help progress the Kree genetic code. Minn-Erva winds up gaining similar abilities to Carol Danvers, and will likely be introduced as a baddie that can pose a physical threat to Brie Larson's super-powered protagonist.


Captain Marvel is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and is set to fly into theaters on March 8, 2019.

@Luminus - yeah we may be getting yet another doppelganger villain but that doesn't mean it'll be disappointing. I guess when you have the strength of Carol, you kinda have to test or tame it with a physically equal villain
