Now that Captain Marvel is in theaters, we're taking a look at some concept art from the movie and this spoiler-free batch puts the spotlight not only on some alternate designs for the comic accurate costume Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) eventually dons but also her powered up Binary form.

Interestingly, one of these pieces - featuring Captain Marvel with golden shoulder pads - may even provide a better look at the costume the hero will don in Avengers: Endgame next month.

There are some great pieces of artwork here and the crazier alternate designs feature vastly different masks and suit designs which would have been a real departure from the comic books. While Brie Larson's likeness is used here
for the most part, one of the Carols actually looks an awful lot like Margot Robbie which makes you wonder who else Marvel was eyeing for the role.

I really wish they would have given her that shorter haircut. The costume and helmet we get in the movie look great though.

@KurtCrawler - I completely agree. Visually my only complaint or not pick really is her hair. I prefer it shorter too.

I think the Third to lay one, the one with the good shoulders, is what she’s wearing in Endgame.

@MrJoshua327 - third to last*

@MrJoshua327 - is it? I haven't noticed a difference in the suit. I would be down for it though. Short hair too lol

@Dart - yeah, she had more gold on her shoulders in the credits scene. The hair is different though because it’s longer in the movie. I think the short hair would look cool too!

Where's Fury?

The one from the end credit seemed to pop more on screen. Comicbookmovies are doing next level stuff with the costumes. They are definitely trying to use the comics to inspire. If you can make Aquaman look cool riding a seahorse then you are doing something right.

@LaserKing - I thought her suit was solid in the film, but the one in the end credits felt less baggy and more polished. Might just be me misremembering but certainly felt like that.

@AbidNaga - Maybe it is just that Russo magic.

@AbidNaga - how did people get a good look at her suit in the mid credits scene? I only remember her showing for like 3 seconds and it was from the chest up

@TinyTinyMan - albeit, like you said, we dont see the full suit and its only a quick little appearance without much motion.

Interesting that a lot of these seem very Judge Dredd inspired. I think what we got was best but really like this cowl

I wish for Avengers they went with the shaved sides shorter hair loom for her and wish they would add the sash to the costume but otherwise she’s visually about as good as it can get imo

@Ha1frican - Yeah, the sash would definitely help add a sense of motion like a cape would. I get that it wouldnt function exactly like that since its a film not a comic-book, but still would help add to that motion.

So there's her Endgame costume

Which looks to me she was always meant to change into that one for Endgame after Captain Marvel. I'm still expecting the "Russos fixed it" rhetoric nonetheless.

But for [frick] sake Marvel do the sash!

@DnA - They’re probably holding back the sash for her sequel. You know, for new toys.
