Well, if you're a fan of Captain Marvel, you've got to be pretty happy today, right? Not only have we had that awesome cover reveal and learned who the lead villain will be but ten new stills have now been released. These put the spotlight on pretty much every major character and there are some big surprises here, including a younger Nick Fury and shots of familiar faces in very different roles.

We also get to see the entire Starforce team alongside Carol Danvers back on Earth before she even gained her powers. Plus, we get to see Ben Mendelsohn both as a Skrull and a human, and you won't believe who he's posing as on Earth! Below, you'll find the entire gallery of images along with all the latest details about the movie which have been revealed by Entertainment Weekly so far today.

So, to check them out, all you guys have to do is click on the "View List" button down below.

This gorgeous shot of Carol Danvers suited up should convince fans who weren't sold on her suit in those set photos that Marvel Studios definitely hasn't dropped the ball when it comes to bringing her to the big screen in an effective manner. The question is, are we going to see her wear the mask?

<p>The film sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She&rsquo;s left her earthly life behind to join the elite military team Starforce on the Kree planet of Hala.&nbsp;(Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck describe Starforce as the SEAL Team Six of space.) Its members include Carol, Korath (Djimon Hounsou, returning from&nbsp;<em>Guardians of the Galaxy</em>),&nbsp;and Minn-Erva (<em>Crazy Rich Asians&#8217;&nbsp;</em>Gemma Chan).</p>

Well, this is interesting. Captain Marvel is shown here on Hala alongside the returning Djimon Hounsou as Korath and Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva. Ronan the Accuser, meanwhile, is flanked by Jude Law's mysterious character and both Ronan and Korath were clearly good guys once upon a time...

<p>Jude Law plays the commander of Starforce, who views Carol as a mentee and pet project. &ldquo; These extraordinary powers she has, he sees them as something of a blessing and something that she has to learn how to control,&rdquo; Law says. &ldquo; That&rsquo;s a motif throughout the piece, the element of learning to control one&rsquo;s emotions and to use your powers wisely.&rdquo;</p>

This shot doesn't tell us much but the magazine has revealed that he's playing the leader of Starforce, so common sense now says that he's probably taking on the role of the heroic Captain Mar-vell.

<p>The film also introduces one of Marvel comics&#8217; nastiest and most notorious baddies: the Skrulls. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader, Talos, seen here in all his bright-green glory. But he&#8217;s got another face, too&#8230;</p>

Behold, the Skrulls! We've seen them in concept art but this is what they're going to look like on the big screen and while you may not be able to recognise him at first glance, that's Ben Mendelsohn leading the charge as the villainous Talos. Marvel has done a great job bringing these aliens to life.

<p>As any Marvel comics fan knows, the Skrulls are especially dangerous because of their unparalleled ability to shape-shift. On Earth, Mendelsohn&#8217;s Talos goes undercover as a human working within S.H.I.E.L.D. (seen here with directors Fleck and Boden). &#8220;It&#8217;s not easy being green,&#8221; Mendelsohn quips.</p>

Talos may not be able to shape-shift in the comic books but he clearly can in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Here, he's disguised himself as a pretty regular looking guy and it will be interesting seeing what role he ends up playing on Earth...he'll have somehow wormed his way into S.H.I.E.L.D.

<p>MCU fans have met the Kree race before in&nbsp;<em>Guardians of the Galaxy,&nbsp;</em>and two familiar faces &mdash; Hounsou&#8217;s Korath and Lee Pace&#8217;s Ronan the Accuser (pictured here) &mdash; will appear in&nbsp;<em>Captain Marvel.&nbsp;</em>In&nbsp;<em>Guardians,&nbsp;</em>Ronan is an outcast with extremist views, but here, he&#8217;s still a high-ranking member of Kree society.&nbsp;</p>

Ronan the Accuser was the lead villain in Guardians of the Galaxy but it appears as if he wasn't always bad! In Captain Marvel, he's still a high-ranking member of Kree society but this movie will no doubt shed some light on his fall from grace and why he ultimately decided that Xandar should be destroyed.

<p>Back on Earth, the 1990s are in full swing. Expect plenty of era-appropriate references &mdash; and fashion, judging by Carol&#8217;s Nine Inch Nails T-shirt.</p>

Welcome to the '90s! Here, we see a young Carol Danvers decked out in the clothes of the time and she just so happens to be wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. cap too. Have you noticed the Nine Inch Nails shirt?

<p><em>Captain Marvel&nbsp;</em>marks Samuel L. Jackson&#8217;s ninth appearance as Nick Fury, but this Nick is a lowly S.H.I.E.L.D. desk jockey (who hasn&#8217;t yet met any superheroes). He&#8217;s younger than we&#8217;ve ever seen him (Jackson was digitally de-aged for the role), and perhaps most shocking of all, he&#8217;s missing his signature eyepatch.</p>

Hello, young Nick Fury! In this movie, he's described as being little more than a "desk jockey" at S.H.I.E.L.D. so it seems as if Captain Marvel will serve as an origin story for him too. I'd say that not only will he learn how he lost that eye but he'll also be instrumental in stopping that Skrull invasion.

<p>Even before she became Captain Marvel, Carol was an accomplished Air Force pilot, and Larson spent time with actual pilots for research.</p>

Before she became Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers was an accomplished Air Force pilot and this very cool shot shows her getting ready to fly into action. It's said that the hero already has her powers when the movie begins so we'll presumably see this part of her life explored via the power of flashbacks!

<p>The film also introduces Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, one of Carol&#8217;s oldest friends. She&#8217;s a top-notch Air Force pilot with the call sign &#8220;Photon,&#8221; and she&#8217;s also a single mother to a young daughter.</p>

Finally, we have a shot of Maria Rambeau, one of Carol’s oldest friends. She's a top-notch pilot with the call sign "Photon" and just so happens to also be a single mother...that no doubt means that when Captain Marvel returns to Earth in the present day, she'll be getting to know Monica rather well.

I also forgot that Gemma Chan was in this and glad to see her star continue to rise. My wife watches Humans and I have to say she does well in the role of a Synth from what I've seen of the show.

the blue (black) Kree is played by Algenis Perez Soto and the big blue Kree is played by Rune Temte

@JoshWilding @RorMachine @KingPatel -

the big blue Kree with white hair could be Ultimus... but on imdb someone else is listed as Ultimus a.k.a. Demon Druid,
maybe the blue (black) Kree is Captain Atlas

Skrulls looking like Triton... Aside from that everything looks cool

That too, or DBE's Piccolo.

I like pretty much everything, but those Skrulls...

Spock0Clock - 9/5/2018, 10:21 AM
@mrawly2 - You know, there's a lot of Inhumans I will defend. Maybe more than anyone else around here.

...But that Triton make-up was really low-effort...

@Doomsday8888 - They look better when you zoom in but I do wish their skin was a darker shade of green.

Hopefully there's some CGI added on top.

@mrawly2 - in no way do the Skrulls look anything like Triton.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 9/5/2018, 10:30 AM
@LiteraryJoe - It's definitely the weakest Marvel TV endeavor since the MCU started, but it's not really aggressively bad. If you have any real attachment to the Inhumans as characters and would enjoy just seeing them on screen at all, then sure. It's worth a watch.

It's mostly just relentlessly bland and pointless. But taken as an extended pilot for a TV series that basically never got picked up, it's pretty passable stuff. Somewhere in the 4 or 5 out of 10 range.

Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 9/5/2018, 10:40 AM
@Origame - Well... it did and it didn't.

It was basically a miniseries, with some theatrical financing and semi-release padded out to 8 episodes, but the intent was pretty obviously aimed at a traditional series order.

It sort of defies traditional category, but what we got was basically a long pilot.

@Spock0Clock - no not really. This is actually pretty common. Series get put into order but then get cancelled at the end of the season, during the season, and even some cases when the first episode airs. It still had the series order.
