While we've had trailers for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Marvel Studios has yet to share a first look at The Marvels.
The Captain Marvel sequel will bring together Carol Danvers, Spectrum, and Ms. Marvel for a cosmic team-up that sounds like a lot of fun. Very little has been revealed about the movie, but we now have news on the team responsible for telling this story!
Marvel Studios has confirmed Marvel Comics writer Zeb Wells is one of the movie's scribes, an exciting development sure to be welcomed by fans. The current writer of Amazing Spider-Man, he's no stranger to Captain Marvel after pairing her up with the web-slinger in an issue of Avenging Spider-Man.
We're guessing working on The Marvels has given him a soft spot for Kamala Khan too as the teenager is currently serving as a supporting character in Spidey's twice-monthly title.
Wells is also Head Writer on the animated Marvel Zombies series coming to Disney+ and penned "The Retreat" episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
He's not the only credited scribe, however, as director Nia DaCosta, Loki writer Elissa Karasik and WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell also receive writing credits. Karasik penned "The Variant," while McDonnel was responsible for "Now in Color" (an episode which starred Teyonnah Parris as Monica Rambeau).
"Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, but unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe," reads a recently released synopsis for the movie.
"When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged neice Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as 'The Marvels.'"
The Marvels is set to arrive in theaters on July 28.
