Ill never understand how they have a following, they all sound so damn stupid, I do love Alicia, but the regular guys make me cringe. Fack.
Dont care at all for Max Landis as a person. Ugh.

I honestly don't think any of these guys get Superman. First of all He's a [frick]ing Alien!

Not an American, not a boy scout not a samaritan. He's an Alien that decides to use his powers for good to help humanity. That's interesting enough.

He's not just a guy in a cape that can fly Max Landis!

Now you can explore the dynamic of how Superman is relevant to the world outside of the basic origins of the character. But even though Man of Steel was a horrible film it still explored that otherworldly and lonesome dynamic of being a guy that has lost all of his people and homeworld.

Honest Trailers is the only thing from screen junkies that doesn't immediately make everyone cringe and facepalm. These guys are such tryhard geeks and experts. It's freaking laughable how uninformed these posers are.

I hear you, I think these are fun though, the last one I saw was the one they did at Comic Con.

And one thing I don't like about Max Landis is that he constantly complains about Haters. I don't hate anyone who is successful, I'm actually proud of them. It's the one's who always complain about people not liking them. Grow some balls you pretentious prick!

TheRanger
TheRanger - 9/6/2015, 2:55 PM
The problem with the public perception of Superman is that people keep confusing him with Christopher Reeve's version which is an outdated and weak interpretation of the comic book character in this time we live in. He's actual got a very interesting backstory that Snyder is exploring a lot more. He's a huge staple in society as we know but he's more than a guy who just waves and smiles his pearly whites at the crowd of people he just saved. He's a badass kryptonian with the power to as Batfleck so eloquently put "Wipe out the entire human race..... and we have to destroy him"

So until we can get past the archetypal cliches associated with Kal-El then we will never truly get a good superman movie..... from anybody. But Batman v Superman will be good.

Tried to watch and couldn't after 20 minutes. It seems every time I try to give Landis the benefit of the doubt, he always enrages me more and more with his douchebaggery.

I usually don't watch movie fights, but the one they did at Comic-Con was hilarious.

Max Landis is a jerk, like the biggest jerk ever. He's smart, but man he thinks he's a lot smarter than what he is.

@TheParkRanger I agree with you a 100% on everything that you've written here. You should stick to writing more cogent stuff like this man, and leave out the nonsensical stuff that usually gets some of the people riled up here once in a while.

;)

Goodness, he has no respect for other people's feelings or thoughts. When will somebody grab him by the shoulders and tell him he will never have any friends and probably die alone if he doesn't learn to stop putting himself above other people.

@SmellofDuty

This isn't really directed at you, because I've noticed for awhile the majority of the comments about Max are the same, but did you know he has Cyclothymia, a form of bipolar disorder?

I was just wondering, not saying it would change anyone's opinions, but I'm not sure if most people know this

@DrKinsolving

I actually had no clue. It's good to know that, because I will now at least be slightly more sympathetic to him. But, if any one would never use his disorder as a cop-out it would be Max. He is one of the most hard-nosed people out there, and I feel like he would never use that as an excuse as to why he was getting mad. Although I could be wrong, because I only know the guy as an internet personality.

@Niklander

I think Max Landis is [frick]ing great. Seriously, he's entertaining and the majority of his ideas, even if the crazy ass ones are insanely creative and they make you think, he knows how to write and he knows characterization and story. He's also confident and passionate.

The thing that really got me in this video was the speed round, Max thinks so fast, it was really surprising to me how he came up and improvised answers like that on the spot, and he didn't skip a beat I'm a musician and I've had to improvise on the spot before and music is language in my mind, being able to do something like that definitely takes skill and hard work

@SmellofDuty

I read an article on him awhile ago and it focused on his career and what it was like for him growing up. Aside from Cyclothymia, he also suffered from dysgraphia (he couldn't write coherently) so he would draw all of these crazy drawings to try to express what was going on in his mind.

I don't think he would ever use it as a cop-out either, I have a feeling he allowed the article to be written to help or give hope to others that are suffering. I don't think I've ever really heard him talk about it in an interview or anything before
SmellofDuty
SmellofDuty - 9/6/2015, 4:14 PM
@DrKinsolving

Even if I don't like Landis, I at least respect him. I'll give it to the guy, he'll stick to his guns, and won't give up. I just don't agree with how he goes about acting toward other people who don't share his opinions.

@Dethpillow

veil of Baphomet!! I don't think I've ever heard Superman described that way, and I absolutely love it. I've always liked that aspect to Superman too, The Clark/Kal-El dynamic. There's so much there, that I hope they dig deeper into in the movies someday
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 9/6/2015, 4:24 PM
@SmellofDuty

I hear you, in Landis' case, I feel like that comes with his occupation in a lot of ways though. I remember he talked about how many scripts he's had turned down before he finally sold his first one, and how crazy Hollywood can be in general, crazy situations, also because there is so much rejection and it's such a odd business to understand
SmellofDuty
SmellofDuty - 9/6/2015, 5:21 PM
@dethpillow

I totally see what you mean here, and that could very well be the case. He could be putting on for the sake of the camera. Regardless of a mic or a camera in front of him, he is a smart guy who will not compromise on his opinions. The problem comes when your not compromising put down and blatantly mocks other people and the stances that they take.
