Oh man. This admiral is in deep. Mongul is not beyond using torture and there are rumors that he has purchased Justin Bieber's music just for this purpose.

is jim starlin the new regular writer on green lantern or is it just for this one issue? one of the best "cosmic storyline" writers in the business.

Will someone please explain why the issue number on this is "23.2" instead of "24"? And yes, I know both companies have been doing it. But why?

@KrazyForKomix

I think they just do that because it's a deviation from the normal story.

. . . wow . . .
I do see what your saying.
They're thinking we'd be confused. If a Grodd-centric story line suddenly (out of the blue) appears in Flash #24, we (the comic book reading nerds) would lose our minds with stark raving befuddlement.
Yup. That does indeed sound like the corporate powers that be.

It's because of Villain's month. So each comic showcases a villain throughout the month, each line will have their comic numbered .1,.2, and so on. Back to normal next month.
Mongol has always been one of my favorite villains. There isn't anyone better at writing cosmic storylines than Jim Starlin, love his art also.

Lol Gusto! I guess they would call it a Power Rod!

Thank you. I understand it's for Villain Month (the garish logos make that abundantly clear). But even already understanding that not-so-mysterious fact, doesn't explain why they thought making an issue 23.2 instead of 24, was some amazing glue to bind the "series" together.
It's the new marketing fad: render the issue numbering meaningless. It gets in the way of their cross pollinating, mega-event, marketing-driven story epics.
"Don't worry about those meaningless issue numbers. Were not going to let them get past 50 anyway."

I have to say, I'm really digging the art here! And @MartianAbominationClone, I have to totally agree with you! Mongul in YJ was done quite well!

@ KrazyForKomix

It's a gimmick. That's all it is. That's all it ever is. Is there really any other explanation necessary? I mean the 3D covers say it all. They could have just as easily called this Mongul #1. I'm sure they'll say "Well no, it really isn't a gimmick. Cause you see we want readers to know WHERE these great characters of ours are going to be showing up. And if we call it Mongul #1, they won't." Except that they could throw a line it at the end like "See Mongul's further exploits in the pages of Green Lantern". Truth told though, I don't mind it. In a way, gimmicks are part of the comics experience. Hell, I've even picked up a couple of the 3D covers, cause why not?

I've missed seeing Porter on a regular book. Shame about that accident he had. His art on JLA was the stuff of legends for me.

The Green lantern and the corps is starting to be one of my favorite DC comics. I was a huge Batman fan but lately has grown bored of the same old bull crap, and 50 different batmen and his dumb bat family. Sort of like the 50 different Spidermen and symbionts. I am becoming fond of Spider-ock.
