COMICS: Cover For THE FLASH #20 Teases Reverse-Flash

There has been a big to do about Reverse-Flash making is debut in the New 52, mainly with series writers saying that he wont have his classic yellow costume. However, the new solicitation for The Flash #20 seems to imply that the yellow is still there.

About a month ago writers Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato revealed that Reverse-Flash would be making his long awaited debut in The Flash. Reverse-Flash is the character that set fourth the events of the New 52 by manipulating the timeline. When they said they were bringing the Reverse-Flash in, Manapul and Buccellato said that they were planning to ditch the customary yellow costume that goes along with him. If you look at the solicitation for The Flash #20, it would appear as if there is plenty of yellow, along with red lightning, in there. Check it out below.



The all new event with Reverse-Flash is being teased as, "An all-new Flash epic begins here, and the stakes have never been higher as Barry races toward a confrontation with the Reverse Flash!" The issue is written by Buccellato and Manapul, with Manapul pulling double duty and drawing the issue as well. You can pick it up May 22nd later this year.

It's all subjective, but no he's right Iron Man was definitely a b-list hero pre-rdj while flash has remained an a-list despite his lack of tv/movie presence

Flash has an amazing Rogues Gallery. Captain Cold is an insanely awesome villain. Reverse Flash is pretty damn cool too.

Iron Man was most definitely a b list super hero. Does that make him any less awesome? No. It's not an insult, he just wasn't that known as he is now.

The Flash was an A lister, but Iron Man was a B lister? Sorry I disagree, Iron Man is one of Marvels most famous characters. Saying Flash is more widely known than Iron Man is wrong to me.

I always thought Zoom (not the Thawne reverse flash) was cool with his powers being explained as time jumping as opposed to speed,but the other villians always seemed hokey.The Wally villains were better like Murmur and Tarpit

Flash's villains are my favorite, then Spider-Man, then Batman.

Also, Iron Man I think would have been a B-List hero. No on knew or cared about him before the movies, but he was still a great character. Flash is A-List in comics, but not to the general audience. If he got a good movie he (any character, really) could rocket up to A-List.

flash is a b lister with some popularity (cartoons, his own show), iron man WAS a b list hero.

back in the day if you weren't reading comicbooks, especially iron man and avengers comicbooks, you had no [frick]ing idea who iron man was and yes flash was more popular than him, at least flash had a live action tv show.

the a listers were superman, spiderman, batman and wolverine (x-men).

thank buddha for favreau and rdj, those two are the best thing to happen to tony stark. even at comic-con, iron man 2008 was called "marvel attempts superhero films with b-list hero" or some shit like that. Now he is A-list, so i can't complain.

BUT flash is definitely still b-list. a - list is when some random mother[frick]er on the street can explain the hero without scracthing his head and going "who"?

maybe in comicbooks he can be called "a-list" but outside comicbooks, flash is most definitely b list at best.

Well, Kilg%re was a great Wally West villain. He even revived Wally once, when he was shot in the heart.

I've always liked Ironman, it was even my nickname growing up, but it is true Ironman was not very well known until '08. Whereas Flash has been an icon since the seventies at least.

@netman I've always considered Batman to be DC's Ironman (or the other way around since Batman came first).

@Shamo They may be pretty weak compared to The Flash himself but they are just so much fun. The Rogues are probably the most charming and interesting villain teams, up there with the Secret Six, and there's just something so insanely wonderful about having a talking Gorilla being a credible threat that only comics could get away with.

Iron Man has always and still feels like a douche in the comics. Just a guy I would not like to meet.

RDJ just made the character likeable but he has always been a B-lister in my book.

that wasn't a knock at Grodd. i think Grodds one of DC's best villains to be honest. i think a good writer could really do some amazing things with him. his only realy knock is the fact that he's a talking gorilla. but at the end of day, its no less crazy then a man who knows nigh-everything and runs around dressed like a bat

@ Jerber you may be right about that. honestly, i can't get past the superficial elements which you touched on: the costumes, names and powers.

as for if Ironman is A-list or not.
Marvels A-list pre-RDJ (imo) would be: Wolverine, Spiderman, he A-list X-men (Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Gambit, Storm, maybe Shadowcat, maybe Iceman, maybe Beast) Hulk, F4 and Iron Man.

Iron Man being the lowest on the A-list.

@Shamo Flash's villains have gotten a lot better since The New 52, Captain Cold has cold-based powers and can now go toe-to-toe with Flash, Heatwave is pyrokinetic, Grodd can access the speed force which means he's as fast as Flash, Weather Wizard controls the weather based on his emotions.
