some are ok. I'm one of the biggest Darwyn COoke fans in the world but I thought Minutemen was a bit thin or forced, and I would just as soon ignore it when I next re-read the original Watchmen.

What bothers me the most is how we can't get these stories individually. Some of the best artwork is paired with the absolute worst here. Hughes and Lee did phenomenal work to behold, but the Kubert and Corsair stories were disgusting to look at and read

@fettastic Not really. The reactions are pretty mixed. The only one I read was Rorschach and I thought it was pretty bad.

Decided not to pick any of these up because, for one Alan Moore and save gibbons weren't involved, and two I don't want to read watchmen and have those stories in the back of my mind, especially if there not good.

I've read them all so far. Very poor. Alan Moore is right to distance himself from all of it - his concept made these characters special, made them finite. Now they have entered the realm of the banal, the pedestrian.
Strazynski's Dr. Manhattan is the only one worth a read, but it's not great either.

Started buying all the titles and lost all interest half way through. Very poorly done.

the Comedian was good. I lost interest in the others after the first few issues.

I'm one of the biggest Watchmen fans around, and I thought these were ok. Most of them do not do anything really special with the material. Most of them are just random cases that Rorschach or Nite Owl deal with that just happen to take place before the main events of Watchmen. So mostly it's just more Watchmen, just isn't really a bad thing. The Dr. Manhattan series was easily the best because it tried some different with the material and actually expanded on the world of Watchmen.

I love Chip Kidd...it's clear he didn't much care about this project and just took a paycheck for the smallest amount of work he could get away with.

That alone says something.

@ Phlegmbot - I couldn't agree more. What a disappointment

I like the Comedian/Rorschach cover. The others are okay.
I may eventually read one or two of these, but the reaction hasn't been great.

Couldn't bring myself to read these. Without Alan Moore writing it is all just fan fiction and I could never consider it cannon and not worth the time.

I enjoyed each one to a point. My least favorite would have to be Moloch. I would have enjoyed them more if they were released on a more consistant schedule. If I had to put them in order from worst to best, they would be:

9: Moloch
8: Dollar Bill
7: Silk Spectre
6: Doctor Manhattan
5: Minutemen
4: Ozymandias
3: Comedian
2: Rorschach
1: Nite Owl

We only have one left, Comedian issue 6. Here's hoping it's released soon.

Although hated the series name, I've read all the titles and, honestly, I liked everything - some mre than others, but everything in general is very, very good!

Go read them, guys, no fear!

Easily one of the worst decisions DC has ever made.
I read bits and pieces and I was honestly cringing at every forced word, every poorly weaved thread that would eventually lead up to the original Watchmen (Which took away most the suspense, and intrigue, for me anyway) and every damn page.

Awful, awful, awful stuff. Lets just put this behind us, and pretend it never happened.
