Thanks to Comic Book Resources:

Included in the 52 series will be:

- A new title starring Superman written by Grant Morrison.
- Birds of Prey #1: This new ongoing series will not feature the work of longtime "BoP" writer Gail Simone. In fact, many tried and true approaches to books will be getting a second look at DC in September.
- Teen Titans #1: The new start for the teen team will be written by "Red Robin" scribe Fabian Nicieza.
- Justice Society of America #1: - Only one of a number of current titles that will welcome a creative team shift, the future of the original superhero team will apparently not involve current writer Marc Guggenheim.
- Wonder Woman #1: Don't expect the recent changes from writer J. Michael Straczynski to stick when the Amazing Amazon sees another new #1 hit.
- Green Lantern #1: Even with a new #1, Green Lantern remains in Johns' hands, and readers can expect the effects of major crossovers like "Blackest Night" to stay in place moving forward.
- Hawkman #1: While fans have known a "Hawkman" series by James Robinson has been in the works since the writer mentioned it on a panel at New York Comic Con, Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston has been reporting the rumor that the book will be drawn by "Batman & Robin" and "Outsiders" artist Philip Tan.
- Aquaman #1: No surprises here. The already announced series featuring the sea king by Johns and Ivan Reis will be part of the relaunch wave.

The other seismic shakeup that remains unconfirmed is whether long-standing titles "Action Comics" and "Detective Comics" would also renumber with brand new first issues. However, at this time, there hasn't been any confirmation one way or the other on the fate of those titles. DC Comics offered no comment on the above information.

so is this a complete reboot meaning all past events will be erased or is it just a simple revamp of titles with the characters getting a face lift.

How many titles is Johns writing?

I think it would be great to start a new era with the characters. By giving them a "fresh" start, so to speak, could breath new life into them for a new generation of comic book lovers! Just hope they don't do too much tweaking to the known events that defined the characters in the first place.

i'm only intrested in the green lantern & the flash.

i think geoff johns is writing too many books & the titles are gonna suffer for it.

So that's what I want to know, is it going to be like an ultimate universe for DC or does the 60+ years of Dc comics in the past mean nothing and are being "erased"?

EVERYONE! IF YOU READ FLASHPOINT YOU WILL KNOW THAT PROFESSOR ZOOM IS GOING BACK AND FORTH IN TIME CHANGING HISTORY. BARRY ALLEN IS TRYING TO UNDO IT. BUT IN THE MEANTIME ALL THE TITLES WILL HAVE ALTERNATE HISTORIES. LIKE BATMAN IS NOT BRUCE WAYNE, BUT HIS DAD, THOMAS WAYNE. BRUCE DIED AS A CHILD!!!

@Nephillim Blackest night only effects the GL universe not talking about GL alone, talking about the the whole of the DC universe.

Sounds like its mostly a marketing ploy. It'd be cooler if they were just starting everything from scratch. And, yes, I mean disregard the last 70+ years of continuity.

PLEASE, just for once can we have someone else writing Green Lantern for a change?

I was really hoping Johns was gonna make a full transition from GL to Flash with the new title.

"A new title starring Superman written by Grant Morrison."
Aw crap he already screwed up Batman now hes gonna do in Supes. And yea All Star sucked.

"Wonder Woman #1: Don't expect the recent changes from writer J. Michael Straczynski to stick when the Amazing Amazon sees another new #1 hit."
Dont know looks like she still has the same costume, but if so what was the point of revampling her a year ago?

"Green Lantern #1: Even with a new #1, Green Lantern remains in Johns' hands, and readers can expect the effects of major crossovers like "Blackest Night" to stay in place moving forward"
Good, It would be a shame to erase all the awesomeness of the past years.

Hawkman #1: While fans have known a "Hawkman" series by James Robinson has been in the works since the writer mentioned it on a panel at New York Comic Con, Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston has been reporting the rumor that the book will be drawn by "Batman & Robin" and "Outsiders" artist Philip Tan.
AWESOME!!!

Aquaman #1: No surprises here. The already announced series featuring the sea king by Johns and Ivan Reis will be part of the relaunch wave.
We'll see.

Writer 1: "we want to take the characters to a new spin, who needs chronology, i want to pick a story without having to read 10 years of chronology".

Writer 2: "We think that the readers should know about the rich past of their heroes, i pick a new comic and i don´t recognize them anymore, they are not the same from the saturday morning cartoons"

Writer 3: "We want to deal with contemporary issues and the real world"

Writer 4: "Comics should take readers to outrageous and fantastic worlds"

Writer 5: "Heroes should be teenagers that my kids can identify with"

Writer 6: "Heroes should be strong adult men that could inspire them".

and so on...

why the hell are they doing this.

I've always thought that it would be good if they actually started from scartch like they were supposed to do after the original Crisis. I hoped they'd do it with Infinite Crisis and then with Final Crisis, but they pussied out again. They'll probably pussy ou this time, too, but at least we had 52, which gives us the new Earth One Universe, so it's all good. As long as this Flashpoint event doesn't destroy the multiverse, then it's all good. It doesn't sound like it will, but you never know. These Jackanory comic mythologies are always changing their minds about the story and where it's going. This character's dead, oh no they're alive again, no they're dead, etc. etc.

"Green Lantern #1: Even with a new #1, Green Lantern remains in Johns' hands, and readers can expect the effects of major crossovers like "Blackest Night" to stay in place moving forward."

This is an assumption on the part of Comic Book Resources.

"DC Comics offered no comment on the above information."

There you go.

They better not [frick] with Power Girl. She's always been Kara Zor-L, from Earth 2. If there is a complete reboot, then I hope Power Girl survives as the only anomoly, in this new universe, with her memory intact.

@GreenHalHordon. Superman was created almost 80 years ago and and the DC history has been rebooted a few times. ie Superman and Batman aren't 80 year olds hobbling around their respective cities trying to save people. Marvel never has. Seems time goes slower there but still I am sure Tony Stark doesnt talk mucqh about developing his armor while kidnapped in a a cave during the Viet Nam war

Grant Morrison batman was groan worthy, but if he brings the same amount of creativity and awesome as he did on all star superman, we may have one of the best ongoings ever.

I'd rather they not do this. It is either going to take or bomb. I am betting money on the latter. Anyone remember One Year Later? I heard they were also making every title available for digital download the same day as release. What a kick in the sack to the retailers.

How many universes does DC need I can't keep track of all the titles out now, and is this going to mess with all continuity and be a total reboot of all things DC? I don't mind change but I also like to fall back on my standard fare of comic pulls.

DAMMIT !!!!!!!

i get keeping the Gl continuity.

so is this jus gonna be Johns Univers.

if they kept it in its own Verse like the ultimates id be all for it but it looks jus theyre ignoring, like the past 20 years of Continuity and just starting from there..

i just hope To Hecate that they Leave Secret Six, Detective Comics, Batgirl & batwoman alone.

cuz i pretty much dropped Marvel after that whole Heroic age Hullabaloo.

Dont Do this DC.

also
Why start over, it really sucks to see great stories of past become useless.
Great stories like Knighfall or Identity Crisis are void now and worthless.
