COMICS: "Count On Marvel" - DC's New 52 Directly Referenced In Latest Teaser

We've already had some hints that Marvel might be planning a complete reboot akin to what DC did with their New 52, and this might just confirm it once and for all. Check out a vague teaser, which still makes an obvious dig at the rival publisher..

The txt accompanying the teaser simply states..

"COUNT ON MARVEL TO ALWAYS DELIVER!

Cuts above the rest..."


And there are 52 slashes. Pretty self explanatory I think. Those red slashes do look similar to Wolverine's claw marks, despite being four and not three - does this mean Marvel will completely reboot their current slate of comics with all Wolverine books?? Probably not, but something drastic is on the horizon. Sound off with your thoughts and guesses in the usual place.

They don't need a reboot or revamp at all, the Marvel titles are all very good right now especially the Xmen titles.

I think if Marvel does reboot their comics, this is going to be funny. Then again, I don't care much for DC so, I'm just going to stop while I'm ahead.

Ah, I think it's fine. Both companies are big enough to take a few digs on the chin. As long as both keep pumping out quality comics - which they are (a few titles aside) - then it's all good.

Most people here who aren't fans of DC never really read DC, if you did i'm sure you would find the stories to be much better :P

Nothin against marvel but everything post siege has been lazy/exploitative.

the reboot didn't do dc comics any harm,before the reboot i only read green lantern,flash & years ago sandman & preacher.

but since the reboot i now read batman,green lantern,wonder woman,animal man,swamp thing,justice league & justice league dark.

the flash,red lanterns & aquaman now & again.

if you don't like marvel that's fair enough but you are missing out on some quality titles.all new x-men,uncanny x-men,avengers,new avengers,thor god of thunder,journey into mystery,indestructible hulk & so on.

marvel taking potshots at dc is a way of acknowledging that they cannot churn out quality books, and the best they can do is to point out the cheap gimmicks in their books.

but hasn't marvel already revealed a lot of upcoming stuff? Like there is AU, and after that isn't there something with Thanos? And then the supposed crossover Ultimates vs Avengers? Plus the current storylines that need to resolve. If the Marvel Universe was to end, Peter better be Spidey at the time

hope is not a complete reboot, the new 52 were a big dissapointment.

sales went up for a couple of months and then down again, the stories are the same generic mediocrity from the old universe just with character redesigns (for worse most of them, and others complete crap like "leatherface joker"), and more "waves" of cancellations than new titles.

I would like that. New 52 helped a lot of new readers with a starting point to get into DC comics, and it helped bring back old readers who long since left comics. It was a really good jumping off point. My problem with Marvel is that I haven't read a Marvel comic book since the whole X-tinction Agenda arc, which was a long, long time ago. It would be nice to have an entry point for Marvel again.

I think they just need to chill with their events

I barely have a lil over ayear readings comics and I already think marvel is doing too much
As long as the quality of some of their titles (like all new xmen, daredevil, hawkeye and new avengers) remains consistent ill be fine with...whatever this is lol

Are you all RETARDED? How are you seeing this as confirmation of a reboot? THEY'RE NOT GOING TO REBOOT.

If anything, this is a dig at DC FOR rebooting. 52 slashes, "a cut above" as in we're above rebooting. THINK!

Facts:
- Quite a few series are closing out, and random ones not to mention.
- Marvel Now! would not be wasted, this could be a part of it
- Almost all of the Marvel Now! series are NOT reboots or remakes or restarts. In fact, almost every single one of them is a continuation stemming from the events of "AvX" and the remnants of the 616 Universe. These new titles that have restarted are just new beginnings for the same old characters.


Now, once they keep 'Superior Spider-Man' on shelves and also bring out a brand new Spider-Man comic....you all have my permission to feel like ASSHATS

I'm fine with a reboot. It would make sense for some of the characters like the Punisher who looks 30 in the comics but still has his military roots in Vietman.

At this rate Marvel and DC could do this yearly.

1. Major over arching event for 12 months.
2. Kill off all the characters in December
3. Reboot with all new #1 issues.
4. Repeat again & again & again.....

I don't see at all how this confirms marvel to be rebooting their comics at all. If anything it appears more of a shot at DC for rebooting their own continuity. Not saying it isn't possible just seems like a bit of a stretch to say it confirms it.

This must tie into the Age of Ultron event coming up, that or Infinity with Thanos.

I don't see Marvel rebooting everything like DC did, as Marvel is ok at the moment as you can follow the continuity to a degree.

its probably why marvel are releasing some marvel now titles every two weeks,i would love to see it go back to the times when uncanny x-men,the avengers & fantastic four had 500 issue runs.

@LEVITIKUZ Are you saying that a COMIC BOOK publisher shouldn't try and be the best at putting out COMIC BOOKS? Just because they are excelling in other areas doesn't mean they should have to slack off in print so DC can be recognized.

I like both companies, but DC won't be able to hide behind Batman/Scott Snyder forever.
