COMICS: First Look At WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN #12; AVX Tie-In

The schism between Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men seems pretty permanent as Rachel Grey, Iceman and a member of the Phoenix Five face off against him and the rest of The Avengers in Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo's AVX Tie-in. "I'm just glad your momma ain't here to see this..."

so, wait, is he thinking about killing cyclops or has he killed him and is thinking about the aftermath of his actions?
AlThor
AlThor - 6/21/2012, 1:50 PM
I'm tired of these writers who have no sense of power or scale. Wolverine shouldn't be able to lay a finger on Rachel Grey. At the end of the day, Wolverine is just a midget with knives in his hands. Any telekinetic would render him impotent, nevermind an omega class mutant with Phoenix-like powers.
AlThor
AlThor - 6/21/2012, 1:57 PM
@PatientZero Bin Laden stood up for what he believed in. What an absurd argument. And then in the same breath, you diss Cyke for standing up for what he believes in (which makes a lot more sense, imo) and call him self-righteous and pretentious. What the hell is Wolverine, then? He's basically saying HE knows best, which is to commit genocide by killing the mutant messiah and the only chance mutants have of continuing their race. What a selfish prick.

And the character is only as good as its writers. Wolverine started to suck long before his abrupt personality change and out of character actions. The company lost all perspective about who can do what after the 90s. Where are the editors? It's all been bullshit.

AlThor - 6/21/2012, 1:58 PM
@AlThor Psi-shielding guards against telekinesis? That's a new one for me. Maybe you're thinking of telepathy.
AlThor
AlThor - 6/21/2012, 2:10 PM
@DanteSparda Yeah, great... except I never once brought up Rachel's telepathic powers. Telekinesis is moving shit around with your mind (i.e. Darth Vader style) so it has nothing to do with getting inside somebody's head. What would he do if she just lifted him up in the air? Read Rachel Grey's wiki page.

@PatientZero Lol... ok you batshit crazy crank. Thank you for saving me the time of continuing an argument with you. Now I know to stop wasting my time.
TheMyth
TheMyth - 6/21/2012, 2:27 PM
Patientzero, lol that's your logic, Cyke is all this and Wolverine is better because he's "badass" lmao And psi-shielding, you smartass, protects you from telepaths, not telekinetic. You aren't as smart as you think you are. And all you did was deflect Althor's statement, he's right. Hitler believed in what he was doing, so did Ghandi, as does Cyke and Wolvie, so you did in fact contradict the shit out of yourself. And congrats, you know and acknowledge something many people choose not to, maybe you aren't as stupid as you act sometimes...

All of this trolling is at least as entertaining as the comic, if not more. Definitely Lol'd at the Bin Laden conspiracy theories.

This Rachel-Wolverine stand off is pretty interesting.

Personally I think she owes Wolverine a major ass whooping for what he did to her in the past.

Also she is freaking powerful. I bet she could handle Wolverine if she went for the kill right off the bat and kept him far away from her. She could fling him into space and leave him there. She could fly him out over the middle of the ocean and leave him there. She could bury him under tons of rock. He might be able to dig himself out.. maybe not.

Wolverine is not all that.

wolverine is one of the best characters ever, cyclops and his idiot daughter should be killed to make marvel a better place.

@DanteSparda No problem.

@Intruder I'd rather deal with Wolverine than Rachel Grey. At least I'd have a chance at getting away if I had a car or something.

@Juggernaut - Dude, totally forgot about when Wolvie sliced her up for trying to kill Selene...ah, the Claremont days...

That confrontation between Wolvie and Rachel, and then the Avengers appearing when it looked like Namor and the mutant supremists were going to go in for the kill. Loved it. I have drank the event Kool-Aid, I fear. Pissed that Ice-man has joined the X-Men on this, because they really are in the wrong. i guess readers are still backing the X-Men, but taking over a world, even in the name of peace, never ends well in comics.

Logan's bones are laced with Adamantium, which makes them unbreakable (yay), BUT what in the name of Zues's BUTTHOLE holds them together?.....Nice fleshy ligaments. Rache could rip him apart. Literally...
ManThing
ManThing - 6/21/2012, 5:46 PM
@ patientzero: The way they write him these days, yes he would survive. But the way they wrote his power in the days when he first joined the X-Men he definitely would not have.

But anyway remember that Rachel was always way more powerful than her mom, even before the Pheonix Force got into her. If she wanted to kill Wolverine she could levitate him at a distance from her so that he couldn't make contact with her, fly him up into the upper atmosphere and then fling him into outer space. Something like that would be easy for her or someone like Justice. And I don't know how long Wolverine would survive in the vacuum of space, but I'm sure it wouldn't be very long.

@ Ralfinader: Glad there's someone else here knows what i was talking about. I sort of hated Wolverine for a little while after that. What an ass. I think he did it more because she was [frick]ing with his dreams than to save Selene. Hell's bells, he should have joined her!

So... what's this about Osama not being killed by SEAL team 6? Because any google search isn't coming up with anything, and there's even camera footage of the raid.

X-men all the way.

Cap and the avengers caused all this, takes to them there are five phoenixes. You dont walk into a man home and tell him you can't protect your granddaughter only i can so hand her over. Spoliers read (x-santion) to see what i mean. Wolverine used to be a faviote x-men until Schism, now he just a hypocrite thinking he know whats best for everyone.Rachel is just worried about her father that main reason she is helping the phoenix five. I would hate to be logan when cable comes back.

Nice trolling attempt. From your name, I could have said "nice trolloc attempt", but the simplistic, one-dimensional nature of your attempt is undeserving of such recognition. Such trolling as you demonstrated is about as effective as having an Aiel for a lifeguard at the beach. I'll be watching.

Team X-Men

Even members of the Avengers are having their doubts now. And Rachel Grey should have been able to take Wolverine. Psi-shielding? Pfsst! Kid Omega had NO PROBLEM putting him in a video game for a few days, and Rachel even found Wolvie using telepathy despite his shields, now shes staring him in the face. Should have been game over. It's heavily implied that she had her guard down while talking to wolvie and one of the Avengers blindsided her.

Yea i def have to disagree with the patient zero dude, how could you still side with Wolverine obviously he is extremely wrong now its him against all the X-Men even Shadowcat knows he's wrong. and at the end of the day no matter how many disagreements or conflicts you have with your "family and friends" you still have their back at the end of the day. I guess Wolverine forgot that memo. When these events are all said and done Wolverine BETTER not wear the "X" they should snatch it off from him in this issue.
Wolverine=traitor.

Side note Wolverines whole BULLSHIT philosophy on having "endangered" kids not fight in wars is dumb. Their race is on the brink of extinction if they dont allow them to protect/defend themselves then they will easily be killed. Cyclops knows the risk and does everything in his power to protect his kind.
