COMICS: Marvel Reveals Plans For Ongoing Dexter Series By Creator Jeff Lindsey!

They may now be owned by Disney, but that doesn't mean Marvel have gone soft! At yesterday's "Cup 'O Joe" panel, it was revealed that the creator of the TV show will write an ongoing comic book series featuring the serial killer...

Well, this should please fans of Dexter! However, if like me you prefer the TV show over the novels, this may not come as such great news due to the fact that the planned comic book series will be written by the creator of the character and set in the world of Jeff Lindsey's books - and as you may know, they're pretty different from the Showtime series starring Michael C. Hall! Many thanks to Comic Book Resources for the following.

The panel wrapped with Quesada saying, "I don't know if you guys are fans of this little series called 'Dexter'..." He then revealed that novelist Jeff Lindsay will bring the popular character to comics with an all-new ongoing series with new stories set in the world of the "Dexter" novels (as opposed to the TV series).

And thanks to the guys over at Bleeding Cool for this photo taken at the panel in New York.

anyone have a release date for issue #1??
and Meloco he was being called the Dark Defender for the graphic novel the guy in the comic shop was writing. but tv series dex, book series dex, either way i'll enjoy it. The first book was almost the same as the first season except Deb finds out what dexter is because she wakes up sooner than on the tv series. the only shame is that dexter in the comic wont have the Michael C. Hall look. which i wish they would have atleast got him on board to use his look for it. I mean hell its more $ in his pocket. But i think it will be great. I just got the new book and am going to start reading it.
