This July, we'll get to witness an epic story that will go down in history among the God of Thunder's most legendary battles as the God of Thunder takes on a godly-powered M.O.D.O.K. in the pages of Thor Annual #1.

From writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, a dup currently making big moves in Guardians of the Galaxy, and artist Ibraim Roberson comes a one-off Thor story so big, it's playing out in the pages of a giant-sized annual. This is a whole new M.O.D.O.K., and after accomplishing his greatest scheme yet, he's evolved into a being that’s more than a match for Thor.

Fuelled by revenge and refusing to ever again be someone else’s paw, M.O.D.O.K. seizes control of all of the Ten Realms but Asgard and Thor the All-Father must step in and regain control of the Ten Realms and the World Tree.

However, M.O.D.O.K.'s new, cosmic power proves to be a greater threat than Thor could imagine, and he’ll need the inspiration of some beloved friends from Midgard to reclaim his realms and his awesome power.

"Collin and I are wildly honoured to contribute to the glorious legacy of Thor!" Lanzing exclaimed in a press release. "Annuals are a wonderful way to dig into a unique aspect of a character - so we’re taking Thor through a gauntlet of epic proportions to finally face down the self-doubt that plagues the new All-Father of Asgard."

"Does he truly deserve his throne? Or do the Nine Realms belong to he who can take them with ingenuity, intelligence, and tireless effort? Is Thor truly worthy...or does the future belong to 'MYTHOS'?"

Thor Annual #1 will also include a special preview of Thor's exciting next era, and an official announcement about that is coming soon.

In the meantime, you can check out the Thor Annual #1 cover below ahead of this incredible showdown taking place this July.

Although I like the MODOK vs Thor part, the rest of the premise sounds kinda uninteresting. It questions Thor worthiness, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that by the end he is

He's still pretty easy to beat.

Just tell him to stop being such a dick.

@Fogs - and now the movies are catching up. At least they both had golden ages.

@TheWalkingCuban - My feeling exactly. Classic marvel is behind in both comics and movies as well.

@Fogs - it’s unfortunate. If the WRITERS weren’t fatigued, we wouldn’t be either!

I refuse to be one half of a dup. Neither will I consent to be a paw.

Why do I even read this stuff anymore...

Maybe the lames complaining should look up the creative team, they're a solid duo lol. But yes, it is time for most of you to get off the cosmic treadmill instead of plaguing comments sections. If you're dedicating any amount of time to being this miserable, you should be finding other hobbies lol.

The 10th real is Heven and its a new thing, not part of the original methos, where Angela is now Thors sister, called Heven. I hate these stories, why make a mortal transcend and be more powerful than the gods, there are so many GOD stories, but this is what we get. I guess anything that keeps exploring Thor, but MODOK, why? Why not Doom or someone higher, who knows. Anyway, Thor with the Odinpower easily overpowered Galactus and the Silver Surfer, so MODOK better be stacked to bring it on. At least it's not the Love and blunder dogshit that @taika made Thor do, hope they just snap that out of existence. As an FYI, Thor is also the "son" of the Phoenix force, how else can they pile on!!
