SILVER SURFER: REBIRTH Will Reunite Legendary Comic Creators Ron Marz And Ron Lim For All-New Series

This January, legendary comic book creators Ron Marz and Ron Lim will return to the Marvel Universe to tell an all-new story set during their classic Silver Surfer run.

The five-issue limited series, Silver Surfer: Rebirth, will follow the likes of Symbiote Spider-Man and X-Men Legends by bringing back the publisher's greatest writers and artists to revisit their historic runs for fresh insights and revelatory adventures. Throughout the 90s, Marz and Lim shaped Marvel’s cosmic landscape with epic tales involving Silver Surfer, Thanos, and the Infinity Gems. Now, they're back to deliver everything that fans loved about their original works and more.

In this series, someone has stolen the Reality Gem, an object that allows the user to fulfil any wish no matter the consequences. But whoever has taken it is doing things like bringing back the dead hero Captain Mar-Vell. It’s up to Silver Surfer to team up with the least likely of allies, Thanos, to find the Gem and restore reality to its proper form.

"Turns out you can go home again," Marz says. "Silver Surfer with Ron Lim was literally my first job in comics. The first comic page I ever wrote was drawn by Ron when we were both kids. And now three decades later we get to go back there and slip right back into that same groove. It's so great to be wielding the power cosmic again."

"I am so thrilled to be pencilling Silver Surfer: Rebirth," Lim adds. "When Darren Shan, our editor, asked if I’d be interested in working on this with Ron Marz, I jumped at the chance. It is fantastic to be working with Ron again. It has been quite a while since we worked together, but it feels like hardly a day has passed. I’m having a blast getting to draw many of my favourite characters from our run. The story is full of surprises, familiar characters and crazy cosmic action! I can’t wait for the readers to check out the book – hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoy drawing it!"

Silver Surfer: Rebirth #1 arrives in comic book stores on January 19, 2022.

The 5 issue limited series. Why can't we have a monthly on going series. They just make these limited series for trade paperbacks. Fill it with the five issues then the rest of it showing all the variant covers.

I was kinda expecting Adam Warlock to be in this story, but the inclusion of Mar-Vell is pretty cool too. And also, this better create some hype for Silver Surfer

I loved you Ron in the 90s but your art work is so out dated. I still think Alan Davis’s work is timeless and is one of the best artist to have ever worked in the industry.

Hearing that they're reuniting on Silver Surfer definitely pulls on the nostalgia strings. I’ll be getting the tpb when it comes out, single issues are just too expensive these days.
