This March, Peter Parker and Miles Morales will join forces as true partners, teaming up on the regular for missions that require a double dose of the webhead. It's a duo better than dynamic, amazing, sensational, and superior...in fact, they're spectacular!

Written by Greg Weisman and illustrated by artist Humberto Ramos, Spectacular Spider-Men will mark Peter and Miles’ first-ever ongoing team-up series. Weisman, known for writing the beloved animated Spectacular Spider-Man animated series and his work on Gargoyles, returns with all the web-slinging drama and adventure that made that show such a beloved fan-favourite.

And who better to bring these new sagas to life than one of the definitive Amazing Spider-Man artists, Spidey legend Humberto Ramos? Together, they’ll mould a rewarding mentorship between Peter and Miles as the two heroes swap intelligence and tips, combine their strengths against threats, and learn from each other's differences in age and experience.

The pair's journey kicks off with an epic run-in with the Jackal, the villain who created Peter Parker's clone, Ben Reilly, and a mainstay of '90s Marvel storytelling.

Like many other of Marvel's most anticipated launches, the debut issue of Spectacular Spider-Men will stand out at comic shops with a special Foil Variant Cover. Dreamed up by superstar artist David Marquez, the piece is a breathtaking depiction of both Spideys doing what they do best.

"I'm so thrilled to be writing Spidey again, and the fact that I get to write both Spideys, together, makes the gig doubly sweet," Weisman shared. "It's fun for me, because in this book, I see the younger Miles trying really hard to show his maturity to his mentor Peter, while the older Pete feels free to let out his inner 16-year-old with Miles. So there's a bit of role reversal to the normal mentor-protege relationship than one might expect to see."

"But I think both Pete and Miles still feel very true to character. And when things get serious, so do our boys (quippage notwithstanding.)  What we're seeing here is the evolution from mentor and protegee to them simply being good friends," the writer continues. "And that change of status (in process, as it is) really interests me as a writer. Oh, and Humberto's art is so damn gorgeous."

@lazlodaytona - why should it top no way home. They are all Spider-Man. Spider-Man 2099 there are literally different iterations of Spider-Man. Miles is not replacing Peter just a variant. Like he was a varient of prowler.
Why not enjoy both

2024 is going to be Weisman year. He's getting all his Dynamite Gargoyles comic book remastered and collected in three volumes and now writing Spectacular Spider-Men

I dont need two Spider-men period but even less in every god gamn book. Naturally, in the current Gang War story which is terrible. Miles is lecturing Peter around who has to apologize for what a bad friend he is.

In the stupid SP2 game (which I wont buy)

******Spoilers*****

Peter retires to make way for a SP3, all Miles game. I am sick of Miles Morales. Especially now that they keep telling these stories where Peter does these asshole things like while Miles is written like some finished work of art.

@AvalonX - Cool. Don't buy it. Spider-Man 2 PS5 has sold 6.1 million as of 11/12/23. Go kick rocks.

Let me elaborate for you guys. There is only one Spiderman and if you true believers knew your history, they created Miles and made him brown to distiguish him from Peter intentionally because the knew the copyright lawsuit was coming from Ditko's estate. They were afriad after the same thing happened to DC. Miles was created in 2011, right in the middle of those lawsuits. See its like I told you guys in the Echo threads. This is why I go againsts it and why you should too. They literally made him brown so they could have a spiderman in case they lost Peter. Thats even why he has a unique power, its how the copyright is written. So while you cry assuming a traditionalist is just that, I laugh at you because you allow mega corporations to shill for them while they EXPLOIT people of color for the only thing they care about ...money.

So why is Sony putting Miles front and center in their games? Because they let Marvel make the Peter movies. Its money people, they dont care about POC.
