SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN Is Still Peter Parker

SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN Is Still Peter Parker

So Superior Spiderman seems to be doing well and shows no sighns of slowing down. I have been rather skeptical since the whole series started. I will admit the only reason I keep tunning in is because the hope that Peter will return. That's what got me thinking what if Ock's greatest trick was having Peter believe he is old Ock.

We are talking brainwaves and I know comics are fiction, but in writting fiction one would hope that some research is done to make thr story a bit more legitimate. So since Peters ocks Brainwaves where downloaded to Peter isn't it safe to say that Peter is still Peter with the exception that he now believes he is ock.

So then if this is what has actually occurred the ramifications of Peters return to sanity, will leave Peter having to deal with the murders he comitted under the rewiring of his brain. Which will make for great stories if this indeed is the direction Slott is going.

The main problem I do have with this book is the inconsistencies in Superior and his surrounding world. Sibling rivalry for instance was a huge let down. Are we really supposed to believe that Kaine would not know something is seriously wrong with Peter? This Is Peters clone we are talking about. Lets not forget about Pete's whole supporting cast, including the Avengers who seem to be dumbfounded with Pete with the exception of Carly. Then in sibling rivalry Spidey sees the Clone of Captain Stacy and says that he died because of my actions as if he was parker. He didn't mention Peter in a third person. He said it as if he experienced it. How would he know that after deleting all of Peters memories? Okay I know I went off the deep end into a Harry Knowles rant but forgive me for going off subject.

Hopefully these inconsistencies will be explained in time but rest assured Peters alive and well except now he's a little crazy and suffers from a god complex.

Ock still remembers everything b4 he did the clean wipe. He didn't lose all of Peter's memories, he just won't access new ones that he didn't see from b4

He had access to Petes memories. He would have to know what to look for. As people grow older, the memories of past actions dwindle and a lot of times u have to know what ur trying to remember to access them just like Pete did when he was supposevly inside ocks body.

If Slott properly wrote these characters, this story wouldn't have lasted more than 10 issues.

Doc Ock was the one who killed Captain Stacy in the comics. That's why he makes that remark. He still remembers that.

Sorry over looked that part about ock killing Stacy and u are correct but Peter blamed himself for Stacy's death so it's hard to say if the intention was from Ocks point of view. The extent of inconsistency in this story go far beyond just that. Ock went from a second rate hack who's plans constantly failed to this Superior super hero who all of a sudden has a plan for everything. He's the same guy who saved Peters life instead of killing him. Even in secret wars ock was not at the forefront of the villians involved. Really when you think about it this was done before in Kravens last Hunt . It's funny that I was going to mention iron patriot on how Harry was suddenly one of marvels ultimate baddies but in the guise of a good guy . brainwaves or not superior is 2013's version of the iron patriot.

I've got an idea. Why not make Spider-man, Spider-man again instead of this moron.

Perhaps get someone good to write him instead of Slott. ;P

Back when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were in charge, reading marvel titles was a joyful and uplifting experience. Now, under the current leadership, it has become an unsatisfying chore to muddle through the meaningless deaths, the dysfunctional and ultimately disapointing romantic relationships, the confusing and silly alternate universes, the excessively redundant cross overs, and the convoluted and incoherent plot lines. Superior Spiderman is the prime example of how moronic plots and story lines have destroyed once iconic characters. It saddens me to see the book selling so well. A tragic commentary on the current Marvel reader. This ridiculous story line should have been met with outrage and disgust and a complete drop through the floor in sales. Instead, it flourishes! I used to say "make mine marvel." But not anymore.
