IT'S TIME TO LET YOUR FANBOY FLAG FLY!!!

Fanboy can be such a dismissive term in some aspects.  Sometimes it can be used as a way to disrespect the person or people that are passionate about a thing that they like.  Some would say "fanboys" go overboard in their enthusiasm because there are so much more important things in life to care about and be passionate about than just an item or thing.

But my question is, where is the fun in that?  I think that it's a given that life happens and there are things that absolutely take precedence over other things.  Your family, your job, your relationships with people are definitely all important.  But what about the time inbetween the times where you just want to sit back and take the time to be into what you're into and not have adhere to the confines of society?  If you want to binge watch all 13 episodes "House Of Cards" in a day binge WATCH ALL 13 EPISODES OF HOUSE OF CARDS IN A DAY!  So what if people tell you that you're being ridiculous and that you could be putting that time to better use like say for instance voluteering at a food bank or helping the homeless.  You can still do that and still have your time as well!  My point is there are things important in life that take priority but so long as you're a good manager of your time and still be resposible to your priorities you have every right to LET YOUR FANBOY FLAG FLY!

We so called "fanboys" may have our quirks that are not of the norm and at one point may have been branded as an outcast growing up but you have to admire our passion and loyalty to what we like.  I see folks everyday complain and be miserable and you ask them what do they do for fun and their answer usually is doing something short term that will eventually lead them to be more miserable afterwards.  At least fanboys(& girls) have their culture, movies, video games, cos-play, comic books, forums, conventions and community of people they can relate to and still maintain their sanity in life. We don't claim to be better and I hunt everyday for my peoples to see who else is out there with the same like-mindedness.  We are super loyal to what we like and we support hard for what we care about with this culture.  I feel that I speak for the fanboy in all of us...

THIS IS THE MOST FUN I'VE HAD WITH OUR FAN CULTURE IN A LONG TIME!

Cherish it, Fanboys, because we deserve it.

If you want to binge watch House of Cards or go to Comic Con every summer, go nuts. I don't think that's why most people look down on "fanboys." Not anymore, anyway. Now you're missing out on water cooler talk if you don't watch Game of Thrones.

The reputation "fanboys" get comes from the irrational, aggressive, and ugly negativity many of them have no problem vomiting across the internet. You can love Marvel, DC, Pokemon or Star Wars to death and not act like a petulant brat. They deserve the scorn. It makes people (the ones you are describing, people I would call "fans") who are passionate about these things look awful by association.

@Mrsotoman I watch most of those cartoons that are aimed at kids. Young Justice was a little mature I feel but I get what you're saying. Having a love for those Marvel and DC characters we see in animated form now from when we grew up is always a pleasure to see. Some are good, some are not so good. But if you do have kids and you can actually sit down with them and be able to answer all the questions about the characters that pleasure is priceless.
