Veteran Comic Book Inker Bob Wiacek Needs Your Help

Bob Wiacek, who has worked on such titles as Marvel’s “Uncanny X-Men” with John Romita Jr., Walter Simonson on “X-Factor” and George Pérez on DC Comics’ “Brave and the Bold” has recently suffered an injury from a bad fall, and he could use some help

The injury has affected his ability to produce his work at a normal rate.  Wiacek has launched GoFundMe (Click Here) and reached out to fans for financial assistance.

Wiacek said, “I have been a comic book/graphic artist for over 40 years. It has been difficult but I’ve managed to get through the tough times yet since my wife passed away over 3 years ago."

He stated that he has to live on a "very modest income" which he has been able to do up until the injury.  On the need to create a GoFundMe page Wiacek said,

“Naturally it will heal but that is going to take time and I’m seriously getting behind in my bills and taxes which I have to pay by the end of the month of September ’15. I live with my son who has a job and helps out when he can.”

Wiacek said that anyone who sends $40 or more will receive a drawing of ANY comic book character they’d like.  It looks like Wiacek may be getting more requests than he thought, as the fans have come through, donating $11,800 as of now out of Wiacek’s $10,000 goal!

I imagine a few Syrian refugees would need my money more than some old comic inker.
I enjoy reading comic books, but writers and creators aren't in any position to beg for my money.

Then again, what do i know lol.

@GetsugaTensho22

It doesn't sound like you know much about GoFundMe, the site has helped raise money for celebrations and graduations to challenging circumstances like accidents and illnesses

Such as people injured in the Boston bombings and other traumatic accidents, to research for diseases, supporting families, rescue efforts

Or something on this scale, compared to the money that the site raises for those horrible events, Wiacek wasn't asking for much

I like his resume. I think his art was what got me into to comics from the Uncanny X-Men.
