Lately, new updates regarding projects such as Creature Commandos and Superman: Legacy, which are part of James Gunn's rebooted DC universe, have been sprinkling small bits of information to the fans amid the current Hollywood Strike.
While all these bits of information have not been directly from Gunn himself, a new Twitter post has surfaced, where a fan asks Gunnn if there has been any update on the Waller standalone TV series, to which Gunn's response reveals if any new information about the project will be released for as the strike continues.
After the person who inquired Gunn about any updates for the Waller series was told by another user to not expect anything new amid the current Hollywood Strike, Gunn seemingly agrees in the form of a brief response, but it now makes us think if the same may go for news regarding any other DC projects.
Recently, James Gunn confirmed Creature Commandos' episodic-count, and how the cast completed recording their character's voices, but that was of course before the strike began.
Waller is a show that has not been having tabs kept on it, unlike Creature Commandos, or films such as Superman: Legacy. If Gunn is agreeing with the concept that he is not going to give updates or news about any other DC projects, as long as the strike continues, then it may just be regarding projects that are not finished, or have not even started in certain areas of their production.
Either way, as long as the Hollywood Strike continues, don't expect any updates for upcoming DCU projects from Gunn.
The DC Universe (DCU) is an upcoming American media franchise and shared universe based on characters from DC Comics publications. It was created by James Gunn and Peter Safran, co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios. The franchise is a soft reboot of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), a film franchise featuring DC characters. The DCU retains certain cast members and narrative elements of the DCEU while replacing others. In contrast with the previous state of DC Comics adaptations, the DCU features a united continuity and story across live-action films and television, animation, and video games. Concurrent DC adaptations that do not fit within this continuity are labeled "DC Elseworlds".
