Here's a brand new trailer for Tim Burton's take on a classic Lewis Carrol Novel, Alice in Wonderland."

The movie stars Burton's staples like Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, it also has Anne Hathaway and playing the role of Alice is Mia Wasikowska.

Movie is out March 5th, 2010.

Alice "Adventures" had been adapted and expounded in comicbook format since 1951 (most recently in Moore and Gebbie's Lost Girls - wink* wink*).
And Wonderland's characters have been used or are inspirations for characters in our comicbooks.

So, here I am making my fancast Johnny Depp's Madhatter for Batman's Madhatter. Simply genius if I say so myself. :)

-access out. Godspeed and MABUHAY!

The madd hatter looks like crap! He looks like madonna on drugs. Ok so madonna's always on drugs. I've enjoyed the story's of alice in wonderland, but i'm with ManOfIron on this one. Something just looks awful about this. It reminds me to much of the crapfest that was Charlie and the chocolat factory.

So this is a sequel to the cartoon interesting. I like it. The movie looks great to me. Any movie right now that helps me to escape from reality is cool.

Woah, wait, so she goes back to Wonderland? Obviously this isn't "Alice's Adventures" but more of "Through The Looking Glass"? I don't get it.

i got the impression that she wasn't the same Alice that had gone through before. at one point is seems that they're arguing about whether she's been there before with Alice. i dunno thats just the impression i got

A message to all CBMers from THEPHOENIX (THEHAWK's wife):

"Hawk was in a pretty bad motorcycle wreck this weekend. He is stable, but still unconscious. Someone has also gotten into HAWK's e-mail account and changed the password. They are now using it to contact everyone he knows and ask for money. He is not stuck in Europe or hiding out in Pakistan, he is in a hospital bed. It is a scam! So to everyone that was contacted, DO NOT send any money transfers!!!"

Why is it called Alice in Wonderland if it's a sequel to Alice in Wonderland?

Bizarre. For anyone who is a Tim Burton fan, do your best to go see his exhibit at the MOMA. Just went last weekend, it's amazing. Tons of sketches from the early 80's just before Beetlejuice that are ridiculously awesome.

Seems very similar to "Hook" almost enough to use the phrase "rip-off". I too was more excited with the early trailer and posters than I am after seeing this trailer.
ComicChic
ComicChic - 12/16/2009, 7:43 PM
I don't think she's the Alice from "Alice in Wonderland" I think she is supposed to be the Alice the books are based on, Lewis Carroll's neighbor Alice Kingsley, finding herself in Wonderland.
loganoneil
loganoneil - 12/16/2009, 8:26 PM
I'm leaning towards what ComicChic says - this doesn't feel like a sequel (per se). Everyone in Wonderland obviously recognizes Alice, but she appears to have no clue who they are. It's almost like it's 'Alice - The Next Generation'. This kinda' reminds me of the mini-series 'Tin Man', which was a next gen spin-off of the original 'Wizard of Oz'.

I never try to hold movies to the standard of the original book, but I am definitely going to see that. I love a good Tim Burton flick :)

Alice not remembering is what makes me think of "Hook". Robin Williams' Peter Pan did not remember having been in Never Never Land, and now this Alice does not remember having been in Wonderland. It seems very similar to me, but I have not seen the original nor read the books, I just have a vague idea of what they are about.

@Loganoneil

Yeah, I know what you mean. I saw Tin Man on SyFy. Then they went and did a show called "Alice" which was pretty much like that. A next gen spin on the original Alice in Wonderland where she had no idea who she was and everyone thought she was "Alice the Great"

Don't know how it ended. I only watched the first part of it :P

I love this clip. I hope to see more soon.
@HarrisonBergeron- The Disney versions of Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland are still some of my All-time favourite animated movies. Classic! I have never read the books, but I may have to.
BryEL
BryEL - 12/17/2009, 5:19 PM
Okay, it is indeed a sequel to the cartoon. She doesn't remember ever going to Wonderland (as do everyone else if they ever did acid), but everyone is like "Alice, what's up, yo!" The Red Queen (who is representing both card Queen and chess Queen) is dictating all of Wonderland and Alice and friends must fight her and the Jaberwock. That's pretty much it. Kinda sad, I though this would be a "Looking Glass" adaption. Anyone know if McGee's Alice still in production?
