While it's still nearly a year out, Walt Disney Studios have gone ahead and released the first official trailer for Jaume Collet-Serra's upcoming adventure film,
Jungle Cruise, which stars Dwayne Johnson (
Hobbs & Shaw) and Emily Blunt (
Edge of Tomorrow) in the lead roles.
Just like
Pirates of the Caribbean, the film is also based on a classic Disney ride, but will tell its own original tale about an explorer (Blunt) who seeks out the help of a riverboat captain (Johnson) for a mission to uncover the deepest and darkest secrets of the Amazon jungle.
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE is an adventure-filled, Amazon-jungle expedition starring Dwayne Johnson as the charismatic riverboat captain and Emily Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission. Also starring in the film are Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.
