UPDATE: CAPTAIN AMERICA's Hayley Atwell Reveals That She Has Joined The Cast Of CINDERELLA
We've heard a lot of casting news for Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella, but none of them revealed that Captain America: The First Avenger star Hayley Atwell had joined the cast.
Cinderella has its titular character (Lily James), a handsome prince (Richard Madden), a wicked stepmother (Cate Blanchett), two wicked stepsisters (Sophie McShera and Holliday Granger) and a Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham Carter), but as you can see from the Tweet below, Hayley Atwell has now joined the cast of the Kenneth Branagh helmed live-action remake of the classic fairy tale. There's no word on who she will play, but it seems fair to say that the cast of the movie is shaping up to be extremely impressive so far. Who do you think she could be playing?
UPDATE: In an interview with BBC News, the actress revealed exactly who she will be playing in the movie. "I've been at Pinewood rehearsing Cinderella for Kenneth Branagh, so I've been doing that during the day and then the shows in the evening. My character? When Cinderella is five-years-old she loses her mum and she's a good mum, that's all I can really say, that it's her biological mum. I'm really looking forward to working with him [Branagh], he knows how your mind works, so its wonderful. He's very thorough, like a theatre director. It's with Cate Blanchett as well so I'm in very good company - she's quite an extraordinary artist and I've been huge fan of her work." Thanks to CBM's 'HOOThoot' for the heads up.
