Throughout the years, films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have had good composers come and go, leaving behind what some might call unmemorable compositions. That isn't to say that there haven't been great additions to the music behind the MCU. Composers like Alan Silvestri have left their mark with the now iconic Avengers theme, and the same can be said with Henry Jackman for his work on both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War. Now, Marvel plans to make sure that the music for Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange is as memorable as their biggest heroes with the addition of Michael Giacchino.
You've probably heard Giacchino's music more often than you realize, as the composer has worked on nearly all of Disney Pixar's films, such as Ratatouille, Up, Inside Out, Cars 2, The Incredibles, and even Disney's latest animated film Zootopia. Giacchino isn't just the go-to-guy for Disney's family friendly films. The American composer has also worked on some of the biggest titles in Hollywood, creating the music for all three Star Trek films, Super 8, Cloverfield, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and Jurassic World. It'll be great to hear what Giacchino brings to the MCU when he creates what might be the mind-bending music for the Sorcerer Supreme.
Doctor Strange hits theaters November 4th, 2016.
