Friday was the most dreaded day of the year on the internet, April 1st (we only posted the one fake story so don't be too mad at us!), and Bruce Campbell decided to have a little fun with his followers by sharing a "first look" at his Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness character.
Campbell posted a photo of himself in the makeup chair with the caption, "I always feel a little strange when I work on a Sam Raimi movie." The reflection reveals that he's in the process of being done-up to resemble Benedict Cumberbatch's Master of the Mystic Arts.
The Evil Dead actor is expected to reunite with Raimi for the upcoming sequel, but his role has yet to be revealed. He might well be playing a Stephen Strange Variant for all we know, but this image is most assuredly fake!
In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.
The Doctor Strange sequel releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.
