DOCTOR STRANGE 2 Actor Bruce Campbell Shares A (Questionable) First Look At His Stephen Strange Variant

Though this was undoubtedly an April Fools' prank, Bruce Campbell has shared a fun shot of himself in the make-up chair as he prepares to play a Strange Variant in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel.

Friday was the most dreaded day of the year on the internet, April 1st (we only posted the one fake story so don't be too mad at us!), and Bruce Campbell decided to have a little fun with his followers by sharing a "first look" at his Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness character.

Campbell posted a photo of himself in the makeup chair with the caption, "I always feel a little strange when I work on a Sam Raimi movie." The reflection reveals that he's in the process of being done-up to resemble Benedict Cumberbatch's Master of the Mystic Arts.

The  Evil Dead actor is expected to reunite with Raimi for the upcoming sequel, but his role has yet to be revealed. He might well be playing a Stephen Strange Variant for all we know, but this image is most assuredly fake!

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

The Doctor Strange sequel releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.

I hope he's Ash in Doctor Strange And The Multi-Verse Of Madness, fighting Marvel Zombies.

@Evansly - to violent for marvel really surprised they have zombie in it

@dragon316 - Obviously having zombies isn't too violent for Marvel.

@marvel72 -
I think everyone is over-hyping the idea of how much this film will actually explore interesting multiverses.

@Scarilian - I predict it will be like Loki. Playing with the general idea, but not going in too far.

@Scarilian - You could show a glimpse into the Marvel Zombies universe in a cameo, it doesn't have to be five minutes,I'd be happy with a minute of screen time.

OT: moon Knight getting review bombed for mentioning the Armenian genocide. 9/10 to 7/10 in a flash.

"Pumping false historical information
Nowadays, the US film industry likes to pump false historical information about the fake “Armenian Genocide” b*...t. Obviously, the Armenian lobby works hard and influences this false information all over the world. This title is another piece of this lobbying effort, nothing more. Strong thumbs down!"
Turkish Siskel and Ebert up in this juice

"Stop Telling Lies
There is no Armenian Genocide, you historical ignorants. Are you all illiterate or anything else? Don’t you ever read a real historical document? We are really really and really tired of your lies and ignorance. That is really enough."
Really?

Here’s my favorite one:
"Another expensive crappy propaganda garbage
It’s like a Netflix propaganda series but more expensive and more political. Don’t waste your time with this crap and watch something else. Penguin documentary would be better."
Well that’s hardly fair, they’re penguins for cryin out loud.

So a gigantic group of people got deported, marched through a desert, and some say the million or so that died was genocide, some reckon it weren’t. Mr. Hamulka! Stop eating my Turkish delight!

Everybody is hoping/predicting that he will be Ash, which I guess isn't completely impossible or anything, but aren’t the rights to Evil Dead franchise kinda all over the place? I could see him play a "zombie apocalypse survivor, armed with a chainsaw" or the like as a wink-wink reference.

It's also good to keep in mind that there are a Raimi movies, where Campbell's cameo was cut out.

@FinnishDude - Ash makes the most sense, but I doubt Disney would go through all the legal trouble to get him just for a quick cameo.
Still hoping for Bruce in a blue shirt and a prosthetic hand (not a chainsaw) doing something stupid.
He is not Ash, but we know he is.

@TheHumanSpider2 - My money is still on him being the voice of that green minotaur guy, since they haven't announced who it is yet (although, that admittedly could just be a case of them getting an actual voice actor, whose involment isn't big enough deal for the general public) and giving Bruce kinda silly character would be on brand for Raimi.

Could also be his brother Ted.

@FinnishDude - My money is on Ted (although he should be reprising his role as Hoffman), Bruce said he is playing "a beloved character"...then again, Bruce is trolling fans 90% of the time.

If Raimi had done this on his own after like Spider-Man 1, Campbell would be a perfect Dr. Strange. Still wish he was Darkman, even if Liam Neeson did a great job
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 4/2/2022, 10:07 AM
@Dredd97 - As much as I love Bruce...nah, Liam nailed the dramactic scenes, and Bruce isnt a dramatic actor.
I also think playing Dr Connors was also a bad idea.

Now, Mysterio? that role was made for him!

I’d be ok if he’s playing a Strange variant and not actually be Ash. But he DOES need to use a spell that makes a glittery, glowy chainsaw appear on his hand mid-fight.
