Marvel Studios isn't shying away from showing us Gargantos, and it appears the hope is that we'll be led to believe this creature is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' villain. The similarities to Shuma-Gorath are undeniable, and there's been speculation that the character - whose goal is to conquer the Multiverse - has been renamed due to copyright issues tied to Conan the Barbarian.
If this is Shuma-Gorath, he doesn't look terribly imposing based on what we saw in the trailer, and certainly not on the scale of whatever the tentacled monster that kept showing up in What If...? was! We'd put money on Gargantos just being one of Shuma-Gorath's many monstrous minions.
Perhaps our best look yet at the creature has now been revealed on a new poster shared by Walmart. His surroundings are certainly interesting, while there's no denying his colouring and design is strikingly similar to that of the creature Captain Carter found herself squaring off with not too long ago.
We'll see, but Strange is definitely going to have his hands full with Gargantos either way!
The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Xochitl Gomez. Marvel Studios describes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as "a thrilling ride through the Multiverse with Doctor Strange, his trusted friend Wong and Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch."
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.
