Keanu Reeves Responds To Fan Support That He Should Play DOCTOR STRANGE

In the above interview with Collider, Keanu Reeves (who is currently promoting the very well-received John Wick) talks in detail about his thoughts on comic book movies in general and whether or not he would be interested in taking on the role of Doctor Strange in the upcoming movie from Marvel Studios and director Scott Derrickson. "From a practical standpoint the idea of a longtime contract is sort of “errr” because you want to make sure the material is up to a certain level. Like the good or great level. I like the idea. I go to those kinds of movies. I grew up on them and comics and graphic novels. [But] I didn’t know Doctor Strange as a character, I didn’t read that as a kid. I’m gonna have to read it. I remember reading something… who’s going to play Doctor Strange? Would I be good for the role?" That's the general gist of his comments, but the video itself is well worh watching for more. Since Joaquin Phoenix dropped out during negotiations, we've heard nothing concrete in regards to who will play the character. Thoughts on Keanu Reeves?

Honestly.. I think he'd be a great choice for the role. To me Keanu shines way more in the Sci-fi/Supernatural genre as an actor. I think he could actually pull it off.

TankD - 10/11/2014, 6:41 PM
@Batmaniac. Yes he was cause they are similar characters the only difference is their personalities and facial features.

And Reeves would probably be a great doctor strange The people that dont think he is a good actor havnt seen his great performaces and dont realize that when he plays a character he plays it his own way with his personality and mannerisms.

Its not that you dont like Keanu Reeves acting its that you dont like Keanu Reeves as a person. When he seems like a more ecent person than most of the ignorant man children on this website.

Honestly, this is the first time I've heard his name pop up for this role and frankly, he is one of the most emotionless actors I've ever seen. No thanks.

Possibly. But Keanu tends to bend characters to his own likeness rather than bending his likness to the character.

Wait, this was actually happening? I like Keanu Reeves, but I don't think he'd fit Dr Strange.
