Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Hilariously Deflect DOCTOR STRANGE Inquiries Yet Again
If you'd care to see the latest attempt to get Benedict Cumberbatch to confirm or just acknowledge that he'll be playing Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme on the big-screen, hit the jump and watch this interview
At this point, Benedict Cumberbatch's silence on reports that he's in final talks for Doctor Strange is another indication that the casting is at least near-official. However, until Marvel Studios makes the big announcement, don't expect the Star Trek Into Darkness star to say anything about portraying the Sorcerer Supreme, as proven during his recent encounter with MTV reporter Josh Horowiz. While promoting Penguins of Madagascar alongside co-star John Malkovich, Cumberbatch went out of his way to avoid responding to Josh's questions about his involvement with the Doctor Strange movie.
You may recall earlier this year during San Diego Comic-Con when Josh Horowitz had asked Benedict Cumberbatch about playing Doctor Strange long before he became a frontrunner. The English actor was only rumored to be on Marvel Studios' early wishlist at the time, while Joaquin Phoenix was said to be considering the role. Check out what Cumberbatch had said then about Doctor Strange, which will be directed by Scott Derrickson and released on November 6, 2016.
