ETERNALS TV Spot Teases The Marvel Cinematic Universe Event Centuries In The Making

Marvel Studios has released another epic TV spot for Eternals, while director Chloé Zhao reveals whether she ever considered including cameos from familiar Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes. Check it out!

A new TV spot for Eternals has been released that drives home the fact that these heroes have been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for longer than any of us could have possibly imagined.

The action-packed footage from the movie (read our review by clicking here) is mixed in with shots of familiar heroes, including Thor and Captain Marvel. We've yet to see the likes of Ikaris and Ajak cross paths with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but who knows what could happen down the line?

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, director Chloé Zhao revealed whether she ever considered including any Avengers in the movie. "I think it was very important for Marvel and for the team at Marvel to step back; to not rely on their other familiar characters, which is the easiest thing to do," she explained. "If anything, I'm the Fact Guardian, "Can I have this? And that?"

"I think it was very important that they were pushing me to trust this story and these characters," she continued. "And the treatment that I received from earlier on, that Nate Moore and Kevin Feige and the Firpos have worked on together is exactly that. It didn't include familiar characters."

Check out the new TV spot (and our interview with Druig actor Barry Keoghan) below:

Love how they keep using deleted scenes in this promos even now that the film is out lol.

@WakandanQueen - so crazy how she was instantly my favorite character. Probably because we’re walking dead alumni

@WakandanQueen - They nailed the portrayal of a speedster with her imo. There was a even a scene where Makkari, Phastos, Thena, and Ikarus were all using their powers and I couldn’t help but think “Wow this is a better version of Flash, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and Superman interacting”

TheWalkingCuban - 11/7/2021, 8:57 AM
@Ha1frican - she was great but I have one complaint as to the better: yellow. Yellow lasers, yellow energy gloves, yellow things connected to Phastos’s stuff. Yeah they’re all Eternals and have this connection but dang, frikkin lassos of truth and sling rings all over the place

@Ha1frican - speaking of WW, I just finished 84 while washing dishes just now, and it is the dumbest cbm since Catwoman. I have to bring Carnage up to a 2 now because the movie is a 1

@Ha1frican -

I've always felt like Age of Ultron was the closest we ever got to a true 'X-MEN movie' so I'm stoked to hear so many people say how Eternals feels like a real 'Justice League movie' in spots.

I picked up on some of that in trailers but it sounds like there's a lot more to see

@TheWalkingCuban - Yeah it did feel a little bit too samey like the Doctor Strange firecracker kungfu but I still think it worked as an introduction to help introduce their powers and show them as one unit.

Yeah I hated WW84 it’s one of the worst CBM’s in a long time imo. Almost ruined my Christmas Day but luckily Soul was also out and I enjoyed it a lot more. At least with Carnage I expected it to be bad given how the first one was. The first WW was great so the fact that they fumbled so hard with WW84 felt so much worse

@OmegaDaGrodd - It definitely feels like Great Value Justice League in a lot of ways and that’s not an insult because I think it’s a good thing. There’s one scene towards the end that is almost straight up a scene from JL but better imo and it was a scene I liked in both versions of JL

@Ha1frican - The vibe I've gotten most consistently is "Justice League by way of Star Trek" and not necessarily in that order so this mostly tracks haha

TheWalkingCuban - 11/7/2021, 9:31 AM
@Ha1frican - yeah agreed concerning the yellow, it was serviceable.

Oh man what a piece of crap especially when compared to part 1. Stuuuuupid. Venom 2 had woody Harrelson going ham so it’s a 2 star cbm like the nick cage effect, but man, nothing saves Wonder Woman 1984. It’s a Jonah hex, catwoman level film. Green Lantern is so much better, yecch

@Ha1frican - I have to rewatch Soul, fell asleep HARD, man I’m old!

@TheWalkingCuban - It’s tough if you watch at home, I was struggling with Dune and I almost NEVER fall asleep in a theater. The only time in the last 15 years I’ve fallen asleep in a theater was Dunkirk and that’s because I went at like 10:00 after a workout lol

@Ha1frican - haha I fall asleep so easily now, post divorce depression in my case and even post depression, it’s still easy

@WakandanQueen - It's crazy how Marvel have made better interpretations of Superman with Vision and Ikaris than DC with Cavill's actual Superman lol.

Origame
Origame - 11/7/2021, 8:12 AM
@kylo0607 - ...isn't the main problem that people had with cavill superman how he wasn't as heroic as he was in the comics? So now you're saying the character who became a villain is a better superman?
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 11/7/2021, 8:38 AM
@Origame - I took it the way the movie presented it that is to say he resembles superman but he is really a back stabber. I even liked the moment when the kid compared him to Superman. I did not like the angry laser show that burned down the fence. That was too obvious of a nod. Besides old girl is dead so now the neighbors have to fix it, inconsiderate

@kylo0607

I haven’t seen Eternals yet but how does Vision resemble Superman? Like at all 😂

@YonnyLayna - "Marvel have made better interpretations of Superman with Vision and Ikaris than DC with Cavill's actual Superman"

The man literally said Marvel made better interpretations of Superman than DC, and you counter that by not comparing DCEU Superman to comic Superman but to...(checks notes)... Goku? 🤨

And not even the character of Goku, which would have helped your argument, no just the action/fighting 🤦🏽‍♂️

@TheWalkingCuban

He’s Superman 😍😍😍
Origame
Origame - 11/7/2021, 9:20 AM
@TheWalkingCuban - I can see that, but I don't see viewing ikaris as a better superman as being fair given what those criticisms really entailed

If Eternals are synthetic beings and can be recreated (even with their original memories) and Thanos is an Eternal, then......

Thanos truly is inevitable.

@GwenLantern - I hope he reads a book on demographic transition then. His malthusian thinking is all wrong and it still bothers me.

@bkmeijer - At first I thought you meant 'from the planet Maltus', like Krona from DC Comics. But after using google, I concur.
