A month to the premiere of one of the most anticipated movie of the year (no pun intended) and the promotion for the last chapter of Nolan's verse of the Batman goes into overdrive. Yet, in midst all the images, TV spots and trailers the man Nolan keeps to the old tradition of appetizing the viewing audience-Give large but nothing away.
We seen Bane in all his intimidation, Catwoman with her unpredictable mature, some bits of John Blake and the center of it all-Bruce Wayne(Nolan has been more interested in the man behind the Bat mask). And yet with 4 trailers and 5 TV spots he gives the audience nothing (just the way i like it). In all the promo for The Dark Knight, the inclusion of Harvey Dent was there for everyone but nothing on Two Face was given away. When folks saw the final movie they were left gasping by the manifestation of the scarred faced villain. Am predicting nothing from all the images but what about a certain character named Miranda Tate by the film writers and tagged as Talia Al ghul by the impatient conspiracy cracking fans.
So far no frame ( with dialogue) of the character played by Madame Marion Cotillard has been shown and might never be till release date. Bar the earlier trailer its like she plays no part in the movie. I don’t take this Director as a plain movie maker as I regard him as an old school Terence Young-like moviemaker. All one can tell from the trailers is that the movie is a triangle of Batman-Catwoman-Bane. I doubt its limited to that.
Ra's al Ghul involvement might not supersede the impact of this character (sworn not to be a decoy) but I believe Miranda Tate would be a major twist/player in the arch of the story just as Harvey Dent's involvement meant Batman finally ended up as the villain in the last movie defining that tag of 'The Dark Knight'. I just believe these trailers are not giving anything away (which is its purpose) and Nolan been more of a psycho-thriller film maker has some stuff conjured than you know.
So you really ready to see these movie by disregarding all the speculations that built up to its release and water your mouth with what you do not expect to be served. Cuz we don’t know what to really anticipate yet.
... and that is what Christopher Nolan is known for -secrecy.
