So Here's my cast:
Liu Kang - Shin Koyamada
Shin Koyamada is my main choice for Liu Kang because not only is he the right age for the start of a trilogy but he's a talented actor as well as a championship winning martial artist. He's played in The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise and on the horrible Disney Channel Original Movie called Wendy Wu:Homecoming Warrior.
Johnny Cage - Matt Mullins
Matt Mullins became my main choice after seeing his work in the Mortal Kombat:Rebirth pitch and Blood and Bone with Michael Jai White. He's got the looks for Johnny Cage and the martial arts skills.
Sonya Blade - Katheryn Winnick
Katheryn Winnick is my choice because not only is she a good professional actress but she's a third degree black belt in Taekwondo,Second degree black belt in Karate and a licensed Bodyguard. Her most recent film was the action-comedy called The Killers with Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, where she played an assassin named Vivian. She's also played in several indie horror films, made cameos in Hollywood and made tv appearances on shows such as CSI,Law and Order, and HOUSE M.D.(Also she's my choice for Felicia Hardy if she apppears in the Spider-Man reboot franchise)
Jackson Briggs aka Jax - Michael Jai White(he should have a minor role but a bigger part in the sequel)
Micheal Jai White is my choice because his most convincing type of roles is the tough Badass which is what Jax is. He's an amazing martial artist and is an expert of 7 different styles. He has played in Spawn,Blood and Bone,Undisputed 2,The Dark Knight and he played Jax in the Mortal Kombat:Rebirth short film.
Kano - Tommy Flanagan
Tommy Flanagan has the acting range and experience in villainous roles for the role of Kano. Just keep his hair short, give him the eye replacement of Kano, and a beard and he'd be perfect for it. He plays in a TV series called Sons Of Anarchy,He played the villain in When A Stranger Calls(2006),He played Lazlo Shoot in Smokin Aces and he played a character named Brian in Sin City.
Sub-Zero - Byung Hun Lee
He's got fighting skills and acting range. He recently played adult Storm Shadow in GI Joe:Rise Of The Cobra and IMO,he was one of the few good things in that movie.
Scorpion - Ian Anthony Dale
He's most recently been seen in Tekken as well as the Mortal Kombat:Rebirth short film. He did a good job of capturing the evil and sinister nature of Kazuya in Tekken and His performance as Scorpion in MK:Rebirth convinced me that he could pull off the role.
Reptile - Ray Park
If you've seen how well he fights in GI Joe:Rise of The Cobra as Snake Eyes and have seen him play Toad in X-men 1,Should I have to say more, lol?
Rayden - Sho Kosugi
He's been known by action film fans for the several Ninja-themed films he has played in. He's recently been seen in Ninja Assassin(2009),which was the role that convinced me that he could be a good Rayden.
Shang Tsung - Ken Watanabe
He's most recently played in Batman Begins as Ras Al Ghul's Decoy. He's also played in Inception and The Last Samurai alongside Tom Cruise and Shin Koyamada. He's a great actor who also has the looks to pull off a good Shang Tsung. Just give him long hair on his head and a long beard and have him dye it white.
Sweetre15: I've always seen Mortal Kombat as a vehicles for unknowns and I tried my best to reflect that. I'm very passionate about the mythology and characters of the Mortal Kombat. Despite me using some of the actors from the MK:Rebirth Short film as far as I'm concerned Kevin Tanchreon can [frick] off with his reboot vision because MK is pure fantasy with an edge not reality. I also didn't appreciate his raping of the characters origins, humanizing the otherworldly characters and stripping it off it's fantasy in general. So I hope WB realizes the potential this franchise has as a big budget fantasy epic and they keep away from MK:Rebirth but I'll make more fan fics and editorials on how I think an MK reboot should go later. Anyway, what do you guys think of my cast?
